I get a Roll Tide up here every once in a while. Nobody really gives a frick about BC football so there are fans of many different teams up here.

Well, I was told a story by a guy from NYC that before there were tons of college football games on TV (in the 70s and 80s), in NYC (and maybe by extension Boston), Alabama was a school that was frequently on TV there. Therefore, there are a lot of Alabama fans in the northeast.

There is an awesome Bama bar in NYC. I think its Brother Jimmys. And of course there is the Houndstooth in Chicago.

No pro sports in Alabama and Boston sports have always tended to be labeled as the "underdogs" (complete and utter horseshite) to the evil that is NYC sports.
It isn't just an Alabama thing. There are random Red Sox fans all over the place.
