Easy Saint, they both responded to a post you made BEFORE they landed a QB you were actually pretty complimentary about so it shows on them not you

He rags on our recruiting only to eat his words when we get a promising commitment the next day, and it reflects poorly on me?

I'm not exactly arguing Saint; just bumping a post I remembered from yesterday. I'm not reading through 15 pages of Alabama's recruiting thread.

He never said anything bad about the kid. You signed a QB, good for you guys. Why don't you go back to the rant and discuss it there.

Is that the idiotic built-in Bama response to anything they don't like? "Go back to the rant"?

I didn't say anything like that, hoss. Learn to read

He was complimentary of the guy, and Rettig was NOWHERE on LSUs radar until this morning, hence the reason why I posted what I did, apologize for that statement but I was talking to him, me and Saint have a history and I understand how to turn this thread back to recruiting by what I post, again apologize if you were offended but it was for his sake not yours

I ragged on your recruiting? I made a comment on how nice it was to get OUR guy instead of wondering who our QB was gonna be. I'm sorry if that ruined your day.

Dude, were you aware that he was going to commit today? Neither was Saint or just about anybody else. You're obviously mad that Saint mentioned that as of yesterday, you hadn't signed a QB. Get over it and GTFO. The purpose of this thread is not for you to come in and question every statement involving LSU.

I really don't understand why people have such a difficult time with this concept.

If we went over to the LSUrb and nit picked at every erroneous statement, every single one of us would get banned.

I never said it wasn't out of left field, and I never said he trashed him. My point was don't make assumptions.

Y'all have a good day

He poked fun at LSU's QB recruiting; I jabbed back. Go have a drink and relax

2013 Breakdown: Offensive line
May, 22, 2012
May 229:13AM ETBy Greg Ostendorf | ESPN.com Recommend0Comments2EmailPrintThe most experienced unit returning from the University of Alabama’s national championship squad a year ago is the offensive line. However, the unit is likely to lose at least three starters after this season. With the Tide signing just two offensive lineman in 2012, the opportunity is there for a player to come in and make an early impact in this year’s class. Alabama already has three commitments on the line: Bradley Bozeman, Andy Dodd and Grant Hill. All three possess the ability to play either right tackle or guard, but none of them are ideal for the left tackle spot. The staff is still looking for that prototype left tackle, and it could also add a center in this class. Expect the class to have at least five, if not six offensive linemen when it’s all said and done.

Bradley Bozeman - Roanoke, Ala.

Bozeman, a native of Alabama, has been all Crimson Tide since the recruiting process began. He became the first member of the Tide’s 2013 class when he committed last June, and he’s taken an active role in trying to bring in other recruits. At 6-foot-5, he has the size to play tackle, and UA head coach Nick Saban told Bozeman he’d like to start him at right tackle when he gets to Tuscaloosa. He’s lost close to 20 pounds since his junior season ended, and he’s a step quicker as a result of it. At the Atlanta NFTC in April, Bozeman only got beat once in the one-on-ones and proved to be one of the top offensive linemen at the camp.

Tom Hauck for ESPN.com
OT Laremy Tunsil, No. 3 in the ESPN 150, is looking at Alabama, Florida, FSU, Georgia, LSU and USC.Andy Dodd - Lindale, Ga.

Similar to Dakota Ball, his high school teammate who is headed to Alabama next month, Dodd has flown under the radar in the recruiting world. Although he’s the only Tide offensive line commit ranked in the ESPN 150, nobody knows how good the Georgia lineman really is yet. Part of that is because he played primarily at tight end last year for Pepperell High School. Regardless, he knows how to block, and that’s why Alabama offered him in the first place. The question is where does he fit along the offensive line. He has the size to play tackle but the versatility to move inside and play guard. It will be interesting to see where he ends up for the Tide.

Grant Hill - Huntsville, Ala.

It’s like Alabama went out and got another Bradley Bozeman when Hill committed in February. The two have similar size, similar abilities and even similar personalities. Just like with Bozeman, Hill also trimmed down to around 300 pounds during track season, and he was lighter on his feet because of it. He looked impressive in the Huntsville High School spring game and said he felt better than he did a year ago. Depending on how it all shakes out, Hill could fit well at the right tackle position, but he could also slide inside to guard if needed. He recently accepted an invitation to play in the Under Armour All-America Game, and I could see him getting work at both tackle and guard during that week.

Laremy Tunsil - Lake City, Fla.

There’s no doubt Tunsil is the top offensive lineman the Alabama staff is going after. At No. 3 overall, he’s the top lineman in the ESPN 150. He’s 6-foot-6, 295 pounds, and he has the tools to play left tackle at the next level and protect the quarterback’s blindside. He also has a ton of upside. At this point, Tunsil has mentioned Alabama along with Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU and USC as the schools he’s interested in. It may be tough to pull him out of the Sunshine State, but if the Tide can bring him in on an official visit either in the fall or after the season, that could significantly help their chances.

Ethan Pocic - Lemont, Ill.

Pocic is another prototypical offensive tackle who could fill Alabama’s need at left tackle in this class. He has similar size to Tunsil (6-foot-6, 285 pounds), but he’s a better run blocker than pass blocker where as Tunsil’s strength is in pass protection. It’s too early to speculate where the Illinois native may end up. He hasn’t narrowed any kind of list yet or tipped his hat to any schools he’s leaning to. Pocic visited both Alabama and Florida in May, and after the trip, he told TideNation that he enjoyed his time in Tuscaloosa. If Alabama can make the cut when he narrows his list, the Tide have a shot.

Austin Golson - Prattville, Ala.

Golson has been a Florida State commitment for over a year now, but that hasn’t stopped the Crimson Tide coaching staff from recruiting the in-state prospect. Alabama has had success recruiting Prattville High School in the past, but Golson committed very early in the process. Still, he recently said he plans to take his official visits in the fall, and Alabama could be a possible destination for the ESPN 150 lineman.

Leon Brown - Brooklyn, N.Y.

In 2009, Alabama found a star from the junior college ranks in James Carpenter, who is now in the NFL, and the staff is looking at another JUCO offensive lineman for this year’s class. The Tide offered Brown, who currently plays for ASA College in Brooklyn, N.Y., earlier this month. With just two offensive line signees in 2012, it’s no surprise that Alabama is looking to add a player with more experience who will be more ready to play when he comes in. UA is Brown’s biggest offer to date.

Other options: Tyrone Crowder, Dorian Johnson, Deon Mix, Kenneth Santa Maria

As for the center position, Alabama hasn’t offered any true centers yet, but that could change after the Crimson Tide’s camp next month. Without addressing the position last year, I’d be surprised if UA didn’t try to sign a center in this year’s class.

Like it always does, the alarm goes off at 4:30 a.m., and a half asleep Alex Anzalone meets his mother in the kitchen for breakfast.

Six eggs, two cups of oatmeal, some pineapple, water and a couple vitamins later, Anzalone is back under the covers for a couple more hours until the dreaded alarm wakes him at 7 a.m. for school.

It’s not easy transforming from a 6-foot-3, 165-pound sophomore defensive back to a year later, a 232-pound Top-100 linebacker, but the Reading (Pa.) Wyomissing Area standout has embraced the challenge with unwavering dedication and drive.

“I knew I wanted to play Division-I football and I wanted to commit to something, and I knew I had to get bigger stronger and faster at everything,” Anzalone said.

quote:

When Anzalone wakes up a second time, he grabs a protein shake on his way out the door for school. At 9 a.m., he gobbles down a protein bar. At lunch, he eats a packed lunch consisting of 10 ounces of chicken with sweet potatoes and apples. At 3 p.m., Anzalone hustles home to throw down six more ounces of chicken with some pineapple, before heading over to get a rigorous workout in with Schaeffer. After he’s done lifting and running, it’s time for a quick protein bar. Anzalone gets home around 6 p.m. to suck down 12 ounces of salmon, a cup and a half of rice and two cups of vegetables, typically broccoli. At 9 p.m., Anzalone has a protein shake or more chicken, and at 11 p.m. it’s time to eat four more eggs right before bed.

quote:

It’s easy to respect Anzalone off the field as well. He has a 4.9 GPA, and ranks in the top-10 percent in his class. Aiming for the bullseye in every activity is routine at the Anzalone household, where Sal is a pediatrician and oldest brother Chris is wrapping up his first year at the Philadelphia College of Medicine while middle brother Nick is a pre-med student at Penn State.

“I think definitely my work ethic comes from all of them just because they instilled the ways I handle things now. They taught me everything I do. I learned everything from them when I was a little kid. Just how I should handle myself on and off the field.”

quote:

Anzalone recently got a chance to Skype with Alabama head coach Nick Saban, and a July trip to Tuscaloosa is in the works.

“From talking to Coach Saban, he was saying how the alumni support there is ridiculous,” Anzalone recapped. “I think all their money they make on football is given back to the student-athletes so that’s where they’re at with the support. I know if I did decide to go there I’d have a lot of support off the field as well, and I can achieve what I want to do academically and probably be really successful there.

Alex Anazalone plans to enroll early into whichever school he chooses, and adds that if he doesn’t decide by the end of summer, he’ll take official visits out to Stanford and USC.

“Obviously academics is a big part of my decision, but I know also it’s what I put into it,” Anzalone said. “If I get a 4.0 doing pre-med at a state school, I don’t think I’d have a problem getting into a med school. At the same, it’s good to have the support of the elite schools like a Notre Dame or a Stanford just in terms of getting a job and things like that. It’s a small part of my decision.

After reading this article, I want this kid bad. Seems like he knows all about discipline and hard work and is willing to do what it takes. Very impressive young man.

ETA: And I think his GPA is probably 3.9
