Where do you think he ranks in with all the other QB's youve seen?

I like him over Max Browne (who I think is grossly overrated), but not as much as Hackenberg .

I would put him up there with Bateman in terms of potential, with Morris having a slightly better arm. I still like the intangibles Malik Zaire brought to the table more than the others, but in our system I would prefer Bateman and Morris.

So I guess it would go like this:

1. Hackenberg
2a. Morris
2b. Bateman (They are interchangable IMO)
4. Browne
5. Zaire
6. Cody Thomas
7. Austin Allen (I like his skill set more than some of the others, but his size puts him down the list)
8. Brice Ramsey
9. Anthony Jennings

I still hope Bama offers the kid in the videos here as:

-Kid won MVP in the Georgia Rising Seniors Bowl over Reuben Foster, Montravious Adams, Tyren Jones, Alvin Kamara, Carl Lawson, Anthony Jennings, Eddie Printz

-Plays in Georgia's largest class which had 14 different teams ranked in the Rivals Top 100 National Poll at some point during 2011.

-Led the entire state of Georgia in Passing Yards in the Regular Season.

Bama Interest
Interest in the Crimson Tide

I'm concerned about the level of competition Bateman faces in Utah versus what Dobbs faces in Georgia's largest class.

I watched Dobbs film last week. It was his sophomore film and I wasn't overly impressed. I know he just had some junior footage released and I watched it this morning. It's only a minute or two long so I'm not going to give a full analysis on it, but if he was willing to sign on knowing we had another QB committed I wouldn't have a problem with it.

He has certainly matured physically over the past year.

I'm satisfied with Bateman, and I believe so is Saban. Folks been saying we'll take 2 qbs and it hasn't happened yet since Saban's been at Bama.

The film in my link is 3:00 minutes plus and there is also film of his performance in the Rising Seniors Bowl Game where he was 20 for 31 passing for 227 yards and 3 TDs against a defense that featured Reuben Foster, Montravious Adams, and Trey Matthews.

He led the East to all 3 of their TDs in the game while Eddie Printz and Cole Seagraves produced 0 points for the East even though the drives were evenly divided.

His 2011 film is very impressive and USC and Bama has expressed recent interest [after seeing his 2011 film].

Perhaps we have different perspectives as the video I posted in the previous link is very impressive IMO.

Dobbs competed in the Dallas Elite 11 and was named to the Final 5 and will likely get an Elite 11 invite along with a major bump in his rating.

Time will tell.....I like the kid a great deal...Just like I did with Tyren Jones when I was posted about him [BamaBornDukie on BOL] back in August when he was under the radar.

Also a poster on BOL posted a thread about having a cousin who works out with Vonn Bell and getting to go run with him tonight & getting a feel for where he is leaning

I would ignore everything that poster says.

He looks pretty good to me. Why isn't he being recruiting all that hard? He's big, pretty mobile, and he has a good arm.

ETA: And evidently he is smarter than anyone in this thread, as half the Ivy League along with Vandy, Duke, and BC have offered him.

I was told not to worry too much about him ending up at *U but, he will likely decommit from us. I know it's been posted on here that some felt and had heard the same thing. I think most think if he does switch it will be to *U. My opinion is he will end up at Bama after all is said and done. That's what the person I talked with thinks as well but we may go through a period that will look like were on the outside looking in. It's just hard for me to believe that as strong as his commitment has been all along that he is willing to throw it all away.

I also was told it has been made clear to him and to *U that he would never play a down at *U. So, all this flirtation with *U is nothing and has no way of ending up well for either party.

What is all this about?

I'm assuming Reuben Foster...

He played for a small 1A Private School up until 2011. So 2011 was his 1st year at Alpharetta which plays in Georgia's largest class.

Recruitment has "blown-up" over the past week as he now has around 14 offers......8-9 of those over the past week. He plays baseball and missed most of Spring Practice. He did get in 3 practices before their Spring Game and about 6 schools were at the game and all offered after the game.

Name to remember........Joshua Dobbs.

Again...I was making posts like this in August 2011 about Tyren Jones....

A statement from highly-recruited quarterback Cooper Bateman

“I have chosen to attend the University of Alabama. I am honored that I will get to learn from Coach Saban and Coach Nussmeier and will get to represent Alabama, the state and the University. I want to thank my coaches at Cottonwood for all they have done for me and mostly to my parents who have made this all possible.”

Greg Ostendorf weighs in on ESPN:

Cooper Bateman to Alabama
quote:

Greg Ostendorf | TideNation

Quarterback Cooper Bateman of Salt Lake City, ranked No. 61 overall on the ESPN 150, committed to defending national champion Alabama Wednesday.

Bateman, the No. 6-ranked quarterback in the class of 2013, chose the Crimson Tide over Auburn, Florida, LSU and Washington after visiting Tuscaloosa in April.

"The campus was awesome," Bateman said. "It was probably my favorite campus. It's gorgeous out there. I learned everything about it. The education is top-notch, but that's anywhere in the conference."

Bateman, a 6-foot-3, 195-pounder out of Cottonwood High School, becomes Alabama's 12th commitment for 2013, and its first quarterback.

Wait....this guy still post? I remember him from when BOL was on Rivals and he was a total joke. The guy was proved to be wrong countless times. He'd make promises about the future and it would never come true. They were never "predictions", but what was going to happen.

People still buy his shite?

There were a ton on that board that claimed we were going to get hammered. It was like that all over the country, so that's no surprised at all. I have no idea who the guy even is.

Besides, I don't follow BOL or feel the need to. A fellow Bunker poster relayed the info over and I was wondering who it was about.
