The LSU recruiting board roasted me for that one.
For saying Mingo as an OLB > Mingo as a DE?
They are crazy. Or they just don't want to admit that one of their players might be better in another scheme.

That as well as my belief that Davenport would have been better served in a 3-4 alignment.

No. Davenport and Woods as NG's.
I don't think Mingo could be much better than he already is, but I wanted to point out that he is very versatile as a 3-4 LB or a 4-3 DE.

Hell, just 3 months ago everyone on the Rant was proclaiming Michael Brockers to be a top 10 pick.
Everyone had him going that high. Not just the rant. Stop being such a fricking retard.

quote:We'll have a full story later, but a few other notes from talking with Foster-
Reuben Foster just told myself and BOL's Charles Power at the Atlanta Nike camp that he considers himself 100 percent committed to Alabama.
"It's set. It's set and done."
Despite pulling a muscle in his leg, Foster also received an invite to The Opening at today's event.
-He's not sure exactly when, but he plans to get back to UA 'very soon' and has been in commincation with Kirby Smart recently.
-It's been a little strange transitioning to Auburn High in terms of it being a new school.
-He also told Gentry that going to a high school in the state of Alabama was a big factor in the transfer.
- There's going to be a lot of interviews where Foster and Matthews say they're going to the same school, and while things can certainly change in recruiting, we consider this to be unlikely at this point.

He had 8 sacks and 15 TFL as a sophomore. I'm okay with him playing DE at the college level. He can easily transition to a LB at the next level, it happens all the time.

But it seems hypocritical when Alabama is given shite for recruiting a guy for SAM or Jack that LSU is recruiting for DE. Then the guy transitions to LB in the NFL.

Don't know if you've heard about this kid or not yet, but Charles from BOL has said that Nuss is looking at this kid from Cali. Charles also said he will be one of the top, if not the top QB for the 2015 cycle. I know that is a long way away, but i'm curious as to what you think about him. Here are some highlights.
ETA: From his Freshman year.

From the Atlanta Nike Camp:
quote:
Position MVPs-
QB- Josh Dobbs, Alpharetta (Ga.)
RB- Alvin Kamara, Norcorss (Ga.)
WR- Ryan Jenkins, Marietta (Ga.) Lassiter
OL- Shamire DeVine, East Point (Ga.) Tri-Cities
LB- Reuben Foster, Auburn (Ala.)
DB- Shaq Wiggins, Tyrone (Ga.) Sandy Creek
Those above along with Brendan Langley and Tray Matthews were all invited to the Opening at Nike's Headquarters in Oregon this summer.

Wouldn't mind Devine getting an offer. He doesn't have a leader. It would be nice to get an OT instead of Michigan fricking getting them all.

Going off what Charles told you and after glancing at his profile page, it seems like UGA, GT and Vandy are his top 3 right now in no particular order.
ETA: He also holds offers from UF, UK, UNC and UTk.

I think Devine might end up at GT- all the Tri-Cities Ol want to go to school together. I am pretty sure that UGA has not offered Hall yet.

Tray Matthews is all over his twitter claiming that before the season, he, Foster, and Kamara will surprise the nation and they will play together.

I don't see a OT that big excelling in GT's offense.

I'll stick with RF's comments from earlier this morning. Sounds like Tray is just trying to stir up some something, probably just to gain more followers on Twitter.

Why would they even want him? He's massive. Their linemen are all around 290 pounds.
