I am a bit of a Nebraska fan, so I was browsing their boards and saw their thoughts on Malike Zaire. They really want this kid, but many have given up now that they know Alabama has offered. It's funny seeing the perception of Nick Saban's recruiting machine from fanbases not in the SEC.

My main concern with Zaire is that he hasn't scheduled a visit. I hope he does and I know that if does show up he will get a full commitable offer. He just needs to show up goddamn it.

You're right, that's definitely not slow.

But after watching Mario Fannin run a 4.35...

Fannin was a totally different body type, larger frame, Trent is a smaller muscular frame

Well McGovern chose Notre Dame. I guess our last hope for a Midwestern OT resides in Pocic. God we are running short on OT prospects.

According to 247, Pocic narrowed his list to 10, consisting of Illinois, Oklahoma, Iowa, Florida, Michigan, USC, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Wisconsin and Auburn.

We're still looking good for Santa Marina though. We aren't supposed to get those midwestern guys anyway. Its better if we just stay in the south for OL instead of waste our time in the midwest. They just happened to have a lot of top OL in Illinois this year and those kids grow up pulling for tOSU, UM, and ND.

Which is why the heat has been turned up on Austin Golson, as unlikely as it is in flipping him. Grant Hill will likely start at OT. He's been compared to Barrett Jones already. We'll then focus on interior linemen. It was just bad luck that the year we need OTs, the Southeast seemed to be light on them.

He's taking visits to 4 or 5 Southern schools for a Spring Break trip. Not sure how much it means, but Bama always has a shot with guys that visit

Or whoever.... Is there a decent list of recruits already scheduled for A-day this year? If so can you list them?

We won't have a real list until the week leading up to April 14th. But we usually do have several commitments during that weekend. 4-5 wouldn't be unusual.

It's a little far out. I'm sure the week of it will get posted

I can't think of a better combination than scotch and charcuterie.

Quotes from Andy Dodd, says he's close to a decision, wish Ball would've been able to make it with him grrr

quote:

“I sat in on team meetings, watched practice, and then had a meeting with Coach Saban,” noted Dodd. “The meeting was just to touch base with Coach Saban. He just wanted me to know that they wanted me there and that he wanted me to be a part of their program.”

quote:

“Coach Stoutland was the same way as Coach Saban- he wants me there. They believe I have a chance to come in and make an impact.”

quote:

“Practice went great. The whole team is positive
quote:

and
excited about the opportunity to be out there. Everyone is being productive, seeing some NFL coaches really made me realize that it’s a possibility. I saw some coaches from Jacksonville and another coach from the Vikings.”

quote:

“The visit helped Alabama. I have to admit they are high on my board. My top three in no particular order is Alabama, LSU, and Georgia Tech. A decision will probably come sooner than later.”

Possible (and hopeful) for a commitment once he goes home, has a few days to think it over

WTF is up with our QB and OT recruiting?

I mean goddamn, we did just win the National Championship for the second time in 3 seasons. Why is this proving to be so fricking difficult?
