Nice to see CJ Mosley is recovered, hopefully he can avoid the injury bug that plagued him last season.

And idk where else to ask this, but has Bama not had their Pro Day yet? Mark Barron was at my school Friday with our weight-training guy working on cone drills. Idk where else he would do cone drills other than a Pro Day or combine

Fluker looks like he is in the best shape of his life.

The salted grits diet must do wonders.

Yah they had 1 will have another on the 29th, Richardson, Barron, & Upshaw will run drills, bench & run 40s

TRich had knee scope (kinda crazy but he had small cartilage he had from HS in his knee he played his whole Bama career with, came up in a physical pre-combine, so he had it removed)

Upshaw pulled his hammy I believe so he skipped 40, ran drills though

Barron had that pec surgery

I think Trent will run something in the mid 4.4s and Barron in the high 4.5s

IDK, man... Trent can fly, if he's fully healthy of course. I wonder how high he'd go if he landed in the 4.3 range?

With Barron, IDK... Yea, probably high 4.5's and low 4.6's.

I never saw 4.3 speed. He's fast, but I honestly think the size of his legs slow him down a little

He has enough speed to take it to the house when he gets into the open, but he doesn't have obliterate angles speed. If he could run a sub 4.4 he wouldn't have needed to juke that OM guy out of his jock.

I don't think he can improve his draft stock at this point though. A bad 40 will only hurt it a bit like it did to Ingram.

That being said, I never thought Julio would run a particularly impressive 40 at the combine based on what I had seen from him at Bama, and he put down a 4.39 with a broken foot, so you never know.

This is the kind of speed I'm talking about, 2009 vs Texas in the National Championship game: LINK Maybe not high 4.3 speed, but definite low 4.4... Maybe 4.42ish.

I think he could have that speed, but I also think he can't sustain it on a long run because of his mass. Thus he had to juke the OM kid to finish that run.

REUBEN LOOKS LIKE HE WANTS OUT THERE!! GET OUT THERE SON!!!

& Trent will run 4.52, great for his size, shocked if it is lower, but he will bench that 225 like umpteen times 30 - 40 range, if they stop him which they will likely do at 40

looking like he will either go #4 to Cleveland or if they make the mistake of taking Tannehill #5 to Tampa

TT you think faster? If so that would be PHENOMENAL but he is 225 might even be pushing 230 pure muscle

TT I think he's just too big to run any lower than a 4.45 or so. That's definitely not slow though...

Mag and Saint...Malik Zaire article by Ostendorf on ESPN woot woot

quote:

Dual-threat QB Zaire has Tide in top six

The University of Alabama has an assortment of quarterbacks on its radar for the 2013 recruiting class, and the Crimson Tide may even take two signal callers before it’s all said and done.

Although it has given out a number of scholarship offers already, the UA coaching staff wants to evaluate the different quarterbacks at Alabama’s camp this summer before taking a commitment from any of them.

Ohio dual-threat quarterback Malik Zaire is one of the quarterbacks who recently received an offer from the Crimson Tide and plans to visit Tuscaloosa this summer to compete at the camp.

“They want to see all of the quarterbacks that have been offered before they take a full commitment,” Zaire said. “They want to see them throw in person. I like the competitiveness of it. I want to get out and show that I’m not just a dual-threat quarterback, but I’m a very good passer.”

Zaire picked up his 13th offer on Friday from Miami (Ohio). However, he has six schools that are currently standing out above the rest: Alabama, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Pittsburgh and Wisconsin.

Alabama may stick out among that group because it’s the only school from the South, but Zaire, a native of Kettering, Ohio, likes what he sees from the Crimson Tide program.

“I like the fact that they win a lot of games,” Zaire said. “They’re champions. The defense is really tough, but the offense also prepares you well for the next level. I think that’s what attracts me a lot.”

This weekend, Zaire is visiting Notre Dame, and he has trips scheduled to see Nebraska and Wisconsin in the near future. He would like to visit all six of his top schools before making a decision.

“I want to make a decision when I finish all my visits,” Zaire said. “I’ll probably take all my visits now and over the summer, and I’ll take my official to wherever I end up committing to.”

I agree. I think he has a phenomenal burst, but he doesn't have that extra gear.

As I said, I expect him to run something in the 4.43-4.48 range. He has the speed to run away from a defense once he gets behind it, but not quite the speed to beat guys who have an angle on him.
