Didnt know he signed his LOI. Wouldnt be the first kid to want to go across the country and play but later turn that wish to play for a program closer to home. Family has a way of doing that. But this isnt about the kid bc i know nothing about him or his specific situation. Just your notion at a lock, from an uncommitted player no less.

What the hell? McNeil won the best TE award.. took of his shirt and walked off the field?

Did he let out a primal scream after de-shirtification?

I'm starting to not want McNeil. Great prospect but if he's getting ejected and acting like this

I wonder Mag if it is like an extra scholly with U$Ce, Kiffin has to beg a booster, I once read an article saying they have a much smallrer allotment since it is a private school and nothing state funds is allowed to go to athletics or MAJOR athletics I should say, so to get an extra scholly he has to ask for more money or something and prove they are good students etc was a weird article I'll try to find it, but I wonder if that's what he also has to so for recruit trips etc b/c they never seem to have a BIG recruit weekend or anything

I'm sure they can fly a few families out from that far IF they think they have a legit shot of landing them. They aren't gonna fly in any Rob, Dick, or Harry just because they say they're interested.

I think USC is one of those school that you don't have to necessarily visit to commit there. It speaks for itself, some kid swill just jump on the offer. Plus their talent pool, for the most part, is west/northwest, so they really don't have to do that much flying in for camps.

He's done well at both CB and WR but especially at WR. Probably about 10 catches in this game

@ bolded Rob

I agree man and to even get some kids from like Crenshaw etc much less places like Washington or Oklahoma, Nebraska MW states, Idaho etc to see Southern Cali, the U$Ce facilities etc, beach, women. I am still adorned a fan to Monte Kiffin as a Bucs fan, so then see him speak and get a chance to play fir him, for some guys has to be a no-brainer, but if you think about it a HUGE REC WEEKEND like Dawgnight or AU's BCW like that would likely pull a few more guys, but you never see them do that and I think it has to be funds

ETA: or want to blow those funds on that rather

So, is Bama actually in it for him? First time I personally saw the connection is when he announce his finalist.

He said the school he's choosing has a computer technology major, if that narrows it down...

Kid is a better CB/S option than WR IMO.

I've heard UGA if they offer. He already has a teammate committed. I haven't really heard Bama was even recruiting him. Maybe things have changed. Kid is like 6'3 165. Very raw player.

Did Kiffin do anything at Tennessee like that? I can't recall, but he has a staff full of recruiters for one of those type events. Maybe that's why he doesn't, his assistant are so effective going out and recruiting, especially under the USC brand.

Money could be part of it, but again, I think USC is a school that doesn't have to throw themselves at recruits...

ETA: USC does put on a Rising Stars camp though.

We would have to miss out on a couple guys for him to get a commitable offer, not impossible though
