Talking about how sad his situation is and so forth.
I mean his situation is sad. He destroyed many lives by a selfish and idiotic decision. Everything about this is tragic. He ended the life of an innocent girl, ruined the lives of her family and friends, ruined the lives of the family he has who depends on him including his infant child, ruined his own life and a promising football career, may have ruined the lives of the people who witnessed the girl screaming for her life, etc. Yeah, it's sad, very sad.
You can say his situation is sad and be angry with his decision at the same time. Having multiple emotions about all this is completely normal.

I agree to disagree. He made a stupid mistake that will cost him basically everything.
I don't think that makes him a bad person. A dumbass yes.

Driving drunk is a mistake.
Driving drunk at 156 mph is the equivalent of getting drunk and firing a gun into a crowd of people.

it's all terrifying
terrifying, and whatever descriptions are even more immediate and harsh regarding our ability as humans to comprehend
I didn't know she suffered. That kills me.

Look, I don't see many people saying he shouldn't be going to prison. But, your scenario is a false equivalency. Everyone knows firing into a crowd will probably hurt someone. Most people driving at ridiculous speeds don't think they're going to wreck. It was incredibly stupid, but he wasn't thinking he'd kill someone.
Again, there's no excuse for doing it, and he deserves the time he's going to get. I just think there's a difference between being a bad person and this.

I don’t either but sure enough clowns like skyraper, Glamorous, and 3down10 are still defending him
If they are, then they are baseless in their defense and should be called out. HOWEVER, if you are trolling, which is your natural disposition, then you should be called out as a liar and despicable. Do you have proof for all three defending him? If so, like I said, call them out properly. Its obvious from the others in this thread that they haven't seen it. If its there, then bring it here.

I feel bad for him. That will be hell to live with. The victim is dead, a terrible loss of life and the family will be changed forever. If you are a Christian, you know she is ok. Henry Ruggs will live with that forever, in or out of jail. From all reports, he was a decent guy. If true, this will eat him alive and the only thing on his mind should be how to make something positive come from it. Mistakes happen. We’ve all done dumb things. I have sympathy for all involved.

It's time everybody got back to SEC SPORTS!
Damn folks!....The incident is terrible, but this is a sports forum. There are other forums to vent about this on.

I know this has been discussed ad nauseum on here, but I don't understand why there's so much sympathy and compassion for Ruggs out there. Why? Because he can run fast and jump and catch?
I'd imagine that its because he's been a good friend and person to many people, and has been charitable with his money so far, and people don't just drop and cut off their friends when they've made a horrible mistake. Just a hunch.
and believe it or not, some people look at the players at their school as real people, not just robots who play football.
Quit trying so hard.

Can we drop the Ruggs crap and get back to important stuff like stripper monkeys, the fact LSU sucks, A&M would be better off with a stripper monkey for a coach, and the fact UGA hasn't won anything in 40 years.

Having sympathy for humans does not mean you condone their actions.
I have sympathy for the victim, her family, and her friends. It is truly tragic what they are having to go through right now. I will pray for peace in their lives.
I can also have sympathy for a young man who made a terrible decision and will pay a harsh price. The prison time is peanuts compared to living with the fact that his actions killed an innocent person. I will pray for him and what his family will go through during all this.
He will get what the law thinks he deserves as he should.

Anybody that thinks it's OK to drive on a public street at 150+ MPH is not a good person. They are a person out of touch with reality. They are not a person that can be trusted to make their own decisions. That person needs supervision 24/7/365.
Ruggs did not make a "mistake". A mistake is when you mix up your socks, or call your wife your ex-girlfriend's name. An accidental, unintended physical or mental error.
Ruggs intended to go 150+ MPH on a public street. That was no "mistake". The car went exactly as fast as he intended. That alone is all I need to know about young Mr. Ruggs.
