Here's a rousing version of Dixie from Oxford, MS many years ago. I don't usually like Dixie combined with the Battle Hymn, but they made it work. I believe some day Southerners, including Black Southerners, will embrace the song, as it's just a paean to the South and not really about the War as it predates it. And every SEC school including OK has some ties to the South.

Nothing wrong with paying respect to our ancestors who fought and died for the South. I swear Ole Miss used to play the first few strains of “To Arms in Dixie” but I may be misremembering. I wish the South would “Rise Again” by getting its collective balls back

Not technically the fight song, but can’t believe nobody mentioned LSU pregame.

Obviously biased, but you could put that on at 3am & I’d jump out of my bed and sprint straight through the wall.

Duh duh duh duhhhhhh

LSU has, by far in my opinion, the best songs/cheers/etc in college sports.

Not really their fight song, but the Aggie band playing Patton is pretty awesome. I swear I remember their band playing those first few notes from Patton (the first four echoed note groups) when they made a first down back in the 90s. Can any Ags verify that?

Patton theme

LINKThey call it “Choker”
quote:

don’t know the name of the song but Georgia and a lot of other schools play it when they are on defense and it’s 3rd down and it adds intensity to the game.

It’s the intro to the movie The Shining. I like it too.

Honerable Mentions:

Florida’s Band used to play shut up by Trick Daddy…that was BA

LSU’s Go Tigers chant is good.

USC’s Tusk, Tribute to Troy, and Conquest are awesome.

Arkansas is catchy.

FSU’s fight song not the chop is really good.

War Eagle and Yeah Alabama are good.

Hail to Georgia and Down the field are better than Glory and Rocky Top imo.

Notre Dames Rakes of Mallow and Damsha Bua (victory clog) are awesome.

best thing the Pride of the Southland plays is about 14 notes - right after Stars & Stripes and God Bless'em for still playing it in their pregame -

If ya know - ya know

People are really going to hate on me for this....but....Rocky Top. For whatever reason, I have always liked the tune.

Yep, our official one is actually "Down the Field"
While I’m not a big Rocky Top fan, I’ve always felt that Down the Field was underrated. I also really like Yea Alabama.

Tenn band just plays Rocky Top too much during a game.

Happens when you get housed 40-13. Don’t want them playing it, then stop them from scoring.

I went to Neyland in 2011 and watched LSU stomp a mudhole in Tennessee, and the band played it every play y'all didn't throw an interception to Mo Claiborne, even with a mostly empty stadium after halftime.
