This is probably what would happen to us. Okie and missou due to proximity and texas due to history.

We’ll have no say and take what they give us as usual.

I’d prefer texas, lsu and ole miss.

Vanderbilt, Kentucky and MIssissippi State would make the most sense, but it probably won't end up being theses 3 smh.

I don’t think the SEC wants to compete head to head with NFL stand alone games.

Taking into account all big 3 sports, these would be my picks.

Ole Miss
LSU
Kentucky

Could make a case to replace Kentucky with Arky (baseball), Bama (geo), or Auburn (great games)

I thought they moved UGA/GT from Thanksgiving (used to be annual date) to that Saturday a few years ago.

No?

I want to play Georgia, LSU, Tennessee and Auburn every single year. If they can't make this happen, then I don't give a shite.

Just came here to post this.. 3/6 is way better than 1/7 but the best solution is a 5/5 model.

5 Perm + 5 Rotation

Yes, I'm aware that some of your assholes don't even want 9 teams, and you sure as hell don't want 10 teams..

But that is the best solution from a "getting to play the ones you want" every year..

Some of you are just impossible to please.. but then again, I think that is intentional just to stir the pot.

Here is an example.. most of it is good, but it isn't complete. I'm aware of some bad matchups in there..

I wish each individual sport could have a different P3 setup.

For instance:

Hogs football: Texas, Ole Miss, Aggy
Hogs basketball: KY, Mizzou, Texas
Hogs baseball: MSU, Texas, LSU

Plus side: you get to see a LOT of different teams as perm rivals
Minus side: logistics

I think Ole Miss and Arkansas would be preserved. If not, Ark. would most likely get LSU along with Texas and Missouri which wouldn't be too bad. That would leave LSU with Ole Miss, Ark. and Texas A&M imo. Bama is always going to get Auburn and Tenn.

Anyone claiming that LSU/A&M Football is fabricated is ignorant of history.

It was one of the most played OOC rivalries in the country back in the day
While this is true, it's also true that A&M is not a top 5 rivalry opponent for LSU. Ole Miss, Arkansas, Florida, Auburn, and Alabama all come before Aggy in terms of rival

5/5 would balance the H/A issue.

HOWEVER, depending on events in realignment, UGA & Kentucky would be against this:

10 SEC conf. games
1 B1G schedule game
1 in-state rivalry game
——————————
0 open slots on our schedules

Why is Georgia’s P3…Georgia?

MSU’s is…MSU.

Bama

Barn
Miss State
LSU

I think LSU makes a far better rival than the wearers of Daisy Puke Orange.

If TAMU's schedule is Arkansas' three most-played P4 opponents, and Arkansas is stuck playing OU and Missouri, I will be pissed. Arkansas has never consistently played OU or Mizzou.

Edit - The scenario above would represent Arkansas being pushed out of the Southeastern Conference. Betrayal is the only word to describe it. If that pairing is the future, then Arkansas should have never joined this conference.

Look, I was just trying to come up with a scenario that satisfied as many desires as possible. In doing that, I assumed that playing Texas was Arkansas's number one priority. I also figured that OU/Arkansas would be attractive, but perhaps not. You could swap OU and Ole Miss in the second column, and have this:

Florida - Georgia, S. Carolina, LSU
Georgia - Florida, Auburn, S. Carolina
South Carolina - Vandy, Florida, Georgia
Tennessee - Kentucky, Bama, Vandy
Kentucky - Tennessee, Miss State, Auburn
Vanderbilt - S. Carolina, Missouri, Tennessee
Alabama - Auburn, Tennessee, Miss State
Auburn - Bama, Georgia, Kentucky
Ole Miss - Miss State, Arkansas, A&M
Mississippi State - Ole Miss, Kentucky, Bama
LSU - A&M, Oklahoma, Florida
Texas A&M - LSU, Texas, Ole Miss
Texas - Oklahoma, A&M, Arkansas
Oklahoma - Texas, LSU, Missouri
Arkansas - Missouri, Ole Miss, Texas
Missouri - Arkansas, Vandy, Oklahoma

Every plan has going to have some head scratchers:

quote:

ALA - AUB, MSU, UTK
ARK - LSU, OM, UTA
AUB - ALA, UGA, UV
UGA - USC, AUB, UF
UF - UGA, UK, UTK
UK - UF, MIZ, MSU
LSU - ARK, TAMU, OM
MSU - OM, UK, ALA
MIZ - OU, UK, USC
OM - MSU, LSU, ARK
OU - UTA, MIZ, TAMU
USC - UGA, UV, MIZ
UTA - OU, TAMU, ARK
UTK - ALA, UV, UF
TAMU - UTA, LSU, OU
UV - AUB, UTK, USC

Having South Carolina play Missouri. Kentucky and Florida. Vandy and Auburn. None of those are really compelling, but you end up with a few of them no matter how you do a pairing.
