Would have thought the same in regards to Mizzou/Arky, but it hasn't blossomed for whatever reason.

My only request would be LSU-Arkansas returning to the Friday after Thanksgiving.

I think something else to consider is that the SEC teams with in state OOC rivals have done a great job maintaining those rivalries with 8 conference games. Those aren't easy wins the way a G5 or 1AA game should be.
I don't think there is a NCAA requirement for an OOC P4 game any longer, or maybe that requirement is dropped if you have 9 conference games. If that is the case, it will be interesting if UK-UL continues. I don't see any world where UF-FSU, UGA-GT, and USC-Clemson aren't played annually.

Does anyone think about Ole Miss? I doubt the hotel reservation clerks in Atlanta do.

It actually started with Tuberville leaving for Auburn. But, Tuberville leaving is what was needed to get the Administration to get off of their asses and make a commitment to. So, in some weird way we owe Auburn a huge debt of gratitude.

I know it was easy to do by placing A&M in the West and Mizzou in the East with no regard for geography, but that just kicked the can down the road. You need rivals close to you, and the Battleline Trophy or whatever didn't really matter when at most only one team had something to play for because of them being in different divisions. I believe that was the only inter-divison SEC game played during rivalry week.

All this, and we own them. They don't like that and blame it on indifference.

Because there is history there. Arkansas joined the SEC in 1991-92 but already had a history with Ole Miss and LSU, so it was only natural. The Ole Miss rivalry was so big in the 1960’s, the series was canceled because of fans fighting in the stands.
From an Arkansas perspective, nothing about the Missouri game means what the Ole Miss, LSU, Texas, or aTm games mean from a fans view.
And before a Missouri fan chimes in…no, it’s not about wins and losses…Texas has hammered our arse a lot in the past…but the two programs have a rich history of playing games that matter on a national and conference level.

Mizzou should have never been put in the East, but we are way beyond that now.

Having Ala/uga/UF as AU’s 3 perms would be awesome. Hard as hell, but Auburn is at its best when it’s playing these 3 every year.
Yeah, this would be the ideal setup. I miss playing Florida yearly.

For Ole Miss
State
LSU
Ark
Ole Miss vs Ark is a very underrated rivalry imo. They have played each other 70 times so there is a lot of history there with some great games. They even disagree on the record.

Only so much hate can go around and that is for Texas and Ole Miss.

LSU's three should be Ole Miss, Texas AM, and Arkansas.
Posted on 5/8/25 at 10:24 am to AICREB
It got so heated in the 60s that the series was canceled for 20 years.

Bama, Dawgs, Gators are the only correct answer for AU.

For LSU, I’d go with A&M, Ole Miss, and Bama.
But.,,,,as of now, LSU and Oklahoma lack traditional opponents for Rivalry Week.
Until that is resolved (Tulane? OK St.?) LSU will have OU as a permanent
