Dont understand how you guys don't see how the events have unfolded.
With Cecil admitting this tonight, there would be no way AU would let him play tomorrow if they haven't already got the green light from the NCAA.
Flame, cant wait to bump thread
Which explains why they changed their answer from an emphatic yes to "no comment" when asked if Cam was eligible. Given that they had already said yes, there's no need to switch to "no comment" if the answer hasn't changed.
All that being said, I don't understand how you don't see how the events have unfolded.
AU is about to get slam-fricked with no lube.
Either way, keep telling yourself all is well right up until the bitter end. I'll hang up and listen.

If Cam didnt know, is he responsible?
Yes, no doubt in this case. Cam said his dad made the school decision. If his dad asked to be paid, this is over.

why do people keep saying this? they do have stuff to lose if the ncaa told them its not wise to play him and they do they will have hell to pay.
also its more than about wins, yea the wins are gone no matter what but when it comes to scholarship loss and length of probation they have plenty to lose.

you also have Dan Mullen telling the NCAA what Cam said on the phone about the money being too much.
It seems evident that Mullen is the man Newton trusts the most and called to unburden himself, so to speak.
There is the possibility that his statement was meant as a 'I can't believe what my dad did and I just cant' sign here and put you at risk'. To which Mullen said well maybe you should give AU a call, they might could use a stud QB who will win a bunch of games for them and then be declared inelligible causing all of their wins to be forfieted.

Yes he's because his eligibility becomes a question mark immediately after the solicitation begins.
It clearly states the athlete's responsibility is taken into consideration.
What if NCAA deems Cam isnt responsible for his dad's actions.
You guys seem not to know, but AU has been working with the NCAA on this issue for almost 6 months now.
Go Ahead flame away though

he didn't catch a ban for bashing recruiting?

I like how he also thinks a confession is the end to cam gate. Honestly there have been many, many, many dumb AU fans the past few weeks, but as usual cfbfan separates himself from the pack

NCAA will make sure Newton plays tomorrow and the rest of the year.
Don't think so, Mark Emmert is the NCAA, he don't play games.

what if gene chizik hops in the delorean and kills john bond before he has a chance to inform NCAA officials?

Thats where you are wrong!!! The rule is you or your Representative has to ask for extra beifets.....Nobody can be your Representative without you even knowing it!!! Sorry Can't wait until Saturday WAR EAGLE!!! For the slow ones that means if you asked for something and i didn't even know you were doing it then you are not Representing me,,,,ie I didn't ask you to do that!!
Great link you posted you will see where he said Cam knew nothing and no extra befits were given by state or AUBURN LINK

so you're saying its a good idea for them to give a big frick you the NCAA and play him despite their recommendation and all the damning evidence?
shite, may as well. They need a 4th undefeated season without a championship.

How am I flaming by bringing up that point? I'm stating facts. Once an athlete or someone involved in his/her recruitment, such as a parent, asks for money, the athletes eligibility is immediately in question.
Posted on 11/13/10 at 12:26 am to ant111
You really think the NCAA will rule that the man's father is not someone who would qualify as a representative ? Really?

Yeah, man.
"The money was too much."
That is a Cam Newton quote.
Cam knew about it, quit trying to convince yourself otherwise.

Again, you're fricking ignorant if you think Cam didn't know he was being shopped around.

They've been on this for months and everyone knew it about it...errrrrr except how they dismissed all this as rumors when the reports first surfaced a few weeks ago

Of course they will. Cecil Newton, a pillar of the community and a moral compass for all, said that Cam had no knowledge of anything. No doubt the NCAA will believe everything he has to say on the matter.
