I'm not sure I believe you because I really didn't see much chatter from anyone when it came out. Seemed like the consensus was more Outer Worlds 1. Bigger. Not a ton of innovation.

Streamers didn't play it much. Hell CohhCarnage still hasn't finished his playthrough and the game has been out for 2 months.

I liked the first one. I think the first one had too much hype and it didn't meet it. I liked it but I wasn't blown away by it. I'm waiting for the inevitable deep discount at some point.

The $80 price tag they tried to push on Outer Worlds 2 which they later rescinded after massive backlash, I think that backlash carried over even after they lowered the price because the sales were an absolute dismal failure.

Obsidian needed a win after Avowed didn't meet expectations but they didn't get it. Grounded 2 will be good but I don't think Grounded was a huge moneymaker even though it is one of the best survival games ever made.
