Why Me, Lane? Why me, Lane, what have I ever done To deserve even one Of the pleasures I’ve known? Tell me, Lane, what did I ever do That was worth loving You Or the kindness You’ve shown? Lane, help me, seriously, I’ve wasted it. So help me trust in the plan, I know what I am, ’Cause now that I know how I’ve needed You, Oh, help me trust in the plan, my sanity’s in Your hand. Try me, Lane, if You think there’s a way I can somehow pay Your salary After all I’ve taken from You. Maybe, Lane, I can show someone else What I’ve been through myself On my way back to You. Lane, help me seriously, I’ve wasted it. So help me trust in the plan, I know what I am, ’Cause now that I know how I’ve needed You, Oh, help me trust in the plan, my sanity’s in Your hand. Lane, help me seriously, I’ve wasted it. So help me trust in the plan, I know what I am, ’Cause now that I know how I’ve needed You, Oh, help me trust in the plan, my soul’s in Your hand. Lane… my sanity’s in Your hand.

Arnett won his first game (bowl game) after Leach died with Leach's players and system. We see how that turned out the following year when the whole show was his.

Never imagined an SEC team would be considering themselves as hot shite for beating Tulane.

And y'all are borrowing our offensive coaching staff.
This is the height of ignorance. They are our coaches and haven’t coached a down for LSU but somehow this is us borrowing them from LSU?

Lane gave Ole Miss the best years in its history. Now, he is in pursuit of his dream job, which may be at LSU. This is what happens when you are not a blue blood and you hire a great coach; it's not fair, but it is reality, and it is predictable. You've had a wonderful year, and I've been pulling for you.

They're your coaches, yet we had to give them permission to coach your team in the playoffs.
Should let y'all know how we view y'all in the grand scheme of things. Texas and Aggy wouldn't do the same for each other. Neither would Bama and Auburn.
Y'all detest us, yet we barely think about you. And why would we?
Your worst coach of all time won 3 SEC games in 3 years, yet he went undefeated with us. Just imagine what your GOAT coach can do here.
We are not on the same level.

Do you believe in life after Lane?

but I have to say I'm kind of impressed he just seems like a normal guy and I like that.
He seems like a straight shooter,
You just described Orgeron... and your boosters hated him for being exactly both of those things.
One thing I'll always respect Orgeron for is his honesty before the 2018 Bama game (which was a top 5 showdown) when he said on his weekly radio show that LSU wasn't good enough to beat Bama that year. We didn't have the lines to match. "Next year we'll have the lines."
He was right. And he got attacked by Rantards after the game, because they are Rantards

Yes actually. You are borrowing them from LSU. We didn't have to let them come back. They've signed contracts sweetheart. Your season depends on our not being remotely concerned about you winning in the playoffs. Because you're not winning out and even if you did, it would make no difference to us. We stole the reason you did it and your whole offense and left you with the crap we didn't want.

Wrong on both counts.
They were coaching with or without permission because of the MOU, not a contract.
Ed had zero to do with the natty and everything to do with your QB. That’s why you fired Ed a year removed from a natty.

Cope and rationalization stage of grieving. You’re progressing.

Ole Miss fans are taking this like jealous ex girlfriends. The melt has exceeded my expectations.

Posted by rebeloke 11/19/25 at 4:34 pm I honestly was ready to see him go because this latest coaching carousel was a doozy. I hope we don’t do it again next year. UF was always the threat and they really screwed the pooch. Unfortunately BR didn’t put it all together either. He was so ready to bolt. Just like in 2022. Fire away. But I thought you deserved to know. Good luck with Drink or whoever you get.
I am really glad you brought this up. This reason I was undyingly confident was because what Lane did was so impossibly irrational. Also he was lying to us all the way out the door. He would have played us further but our Chancellor wanted him gone once it became obvious what he was doing. Everything about Lane was a lie. His sobriety. His change. His extracurricular co-ed activities. So yeah thanks for pointing out how badly fooled all of us were. You will learn soon enough.

It wasn’t irrational at all. He was offered a major promotion and he accepted it.
What’s irrational has been the reaction of some OM posters. What’s irrational is the petty shite slinging over Lane allegations that only became a problem for OM fans after Lane and staff got on the LSU planes. What’s irrational is thinking OM to LSU is a lateral move.

It’s irrational to leave a team in the playoffs with a chance to win a natty right now. LSU would have waited until after the season. Lane would have only enhanced his credentials and not lost credibility. He literally left a team he spent 6 years building for what? Money? Titles? Moving forward Ole Miss has just as good a chance as any to win a natty. Case in point: Ole Miss is in the playoffs and LSU isn’t. Our roster is better. We have upgraded our staff after his departure. Lane has never won anything and now he is literally hated more than any coach in the country. His rehabbed image is in the tank. He only managed to get 4 offensive coaches to follow him and zero on defense. He looks like an idiot. And LSU thinks they did something. We are laughing at you.
