Edit: There was point in the season where they were undefeated & in contention for the automatic G5 bid but I don't think that's what we're talking about. At least I hope not.

Too many playoff teams, we've gone full retard chasing the dollar.
For the life of me I still don't understand why we went straight from 4 team to 12, without even discussing 8. The media was driving this from the get-go.

Alabama being in it doesn't change anything. It would just be another team that shouldn't be in the playoffs. Lost 3 games and playing for a national championship is stupid. Just like SMU losing 2 games and no ranked wins on their shitty schedule is. And Clemson losing 3 games on their shitty schedule with their only ranked win being SMU. And Boise St losing to the only good team they played and no ranked wins, and Indiana who also lost to the only good team they played and no ranked wins, and Texas who doesn't have a single ranked win either.
It's not the teams fault, it's the shitty playoff structure with 12 teams and AQ status. It's picking among a bunch of teams that shouldn't be there.
