I vote yes. How many times has a two loss SEC team been damn near as good as everyone else in the country, especially before Saban at Bama in 2007. We can’t keep thinking Bama will be on top forever. It’s not the reality of any sport for a single team to rule it forever or for a single team to always be at the top. There will be years where it’s lopsided and years where the competition is tight. Only one sport doesn’t do championships this way.
Besides, some sadistic part of me wants to prove that even Florida can beat Michigan in the snow in December!

No, but they'll do it anyway. Should have kept the BCS.
The BCS would have had Michigan vs Bama in title game this year.
frick that

Agreed. Screw parity. The only way for Bama to not be on top is for Saban to leave or somebody beat them. Somebody needs to step up. Expanded playoffs won’t change it. Still, I think you should go through a regular season and post season gauntlet. Upsets happen. Only way to prove you’re the best is show it on the field

Expand the second by a few more teams
Recognize sec championship as national champions
The end
Recognize sec championship as national champions
The end

No, last night proved that

Yes.
If 5-8 are so "not worthy" then it'll work itself out anyway.
My guess? There will be far more upsets than most people think. A #5 will win it all in the first five years and a #8 will win it all in the first ten.

Yes or no for expanded playoff?
Absolutely. An expanded playoff will bring more meaningful post season games, and less opt outs. College football of thirty years ago is never coming back. The culture of young people today has changed, and most of them believe bowl games are meaningless, whether or not you think it’s good or bad.
I’m willing to bet nearly all of you will come around to the idea when it happens. An expanded college football playoff will absolutely dwarf the excitement of the NCAA tournament.

I vote yes.....
We saw so far the committee has no clue....the committee had big 10 bias all year and those teams have no offense.....
The committee should have stood up and said anyone in the top 15 with Cincinnati’s schedul would be undefeated ...they had no offense either.....
The only way to have a real playoff is to expand the playoff....

No. Just make the SECCG the National Championship and go back to the old bowl affiliations for entertainment only.

With BCS we would have gotten Bama VD Michigan. 4 is plenty but expanded playoffs would keep more players from opting out and would increase viewership for bowls and possibly keep the sport from being regionalized.

It would be a way to end this opt out crap......
Our entire starting defensive front 5 along with 2 starting receivers bailed out......didn’t matter the backups looked better and we smoked Oregon 30-3 in first half then coasted to a win playing everyone......
But for other teams that would have killed them....

No more than 8 and the only reason for 8 is TV money
4 is enough but you have to keep these conference champs out of the hardline for selecting the best 4.
Roll Tide
Enjoy the ride because we know they always end

YES
Current system is completely broken.
16 team playoff. Higher seeds host first round. Seven bowls host final eight (Rose, Orange, Sugar, Cotton, Fiesta, Peach, Citrus)
Then keep 10 bowl games for the 20 deserving teams outside the playoff.
They can be a combination of the oldest and best of the other bowls (examples - Gator, Sun, Music City, Liberty etc.)
That means 36 teams play in the postseason. Playoffs will be like November-December madness plus you have just enough other bowl games to keep our interest and reward deserving teams.
Win-Win all the way around.

For everyone saying no, I have one question for you:
"Will you watch the expanded playoff?"
Yeah, me too.

Yes... It will mostly benefit SEC teams.

Yes, will help because more teams will be in it which should balance recruiting.

Should go to 6. Top two get byes. 3 playing 6 and 4 playing 5 should be competitive games.
