Made up quotes from a recruit. Recruit called him out on twitter, yancy tells the recruit to take tweet down because it’s making him look bad. Recruit posts screenshots of messages. Yancy gets fired

So he’s fired..Who did he work for officially? Did he work for Ole Miss athletics or just a media publication? He always came off as conceited so I just never gave him any attention.

USC QB commit Devin Brown visited Ole Miss.
Yancy Porter, Ole Miss 247 at the time, had a recruiting wrapup/article and published quotes from Brown.
Brown read it and took to twitter to call Yancy out. Brown said something to the effect of; "I was never interviewed". Screenshots were posted.
A shitestorm ensued. Ole Miss 247 members got pissed. Yancy was obviously fired.
After that, I didn't really read why, but there was an even bigger fallout and the Ole Miss 247 site/guys went to ON3. I assume it had something to do with the Yancy stuff, like CBS/247 cleaned house and they had to find a landing spot.

Yancy worked for Chuck Rounsaville, who was the lead (and original publisher) of the Ole Miss Spirit. 247 bought the rights to the spirit but kept Chuck on so that he could run it, and Chuck hired a few people as writers (Yancy, Ben Garrett, etc.)

The strange thing about that ISIS case? The Vicksburg raised Homecoming Queen radicalized her Muslim boyfriend, not the other way around.

Yeah it was pretty wild, he was Starkville raised, his parents owned Shaherazad’s in the Cotton District if y’all remember that place, and are good people.

He made up shite almost daily. Every recruit “ loved ole miss” and it was “ the best ever”. When said recruit signed elsewhere it was “his heart was at ole miss but he was allowed to sign with us” or “the staff dropped him”. Big fricking lying douche

Not just That guy, but 247 removed the whole board called Spirit and it's owners.
So whoever the owner was .. fired and all of those subscribers.. lost. My understanding is he had owned that board since message boards became a thing. That owner (before his contract was terminated) went to a rival sports board (Literally called Rivals) and defended Yancy. He stated that Yancy was personally responsible for for several football player's recruitment and they would not be on the team if not for the Ole Miss writer.. Yancy
Then another "ole miss beat guy" went on a rant on a pod cast saying Yancy has a history of doing that. He was fired.
