They definitely have. As I said, OU paid Jamar $435k. Venables just hired a coach (Miguel Chavis), who has never been an on-the-field coach before, for the same role @ $600k per.

LSU had to "outbid" USC. Cost of living favors LSU obviously.
He made $435k this season at OU.

Being 23rd is not good enough for Nebraska. In the 90s, they were definitely a top 5 talented team. Some years, top 1-3.
The days of Nebraska going into Texas and getting a massive recruit have long been over. It got worse with the Big 10 move. They need to turn themselves into a hub for portal additions. That's probably their plan.

I think we all just kind of wanted it to be Venables and it was premature hope. Sources everywhere.
The candidates being talked about as of this morning are Rhule, Venables, and Lanning.
But like Woodward, OU's AD doesn't leak stuff so who knows.
May find something out today.

Long story.
Short version: Brent was the DC at OU. Brent struggled a little bit and Bob decided to bring back his brother Mike. Brent was happy to go from DC to Co-DC. Brent left for Clemson. Bob begged him to come back. Brent almost did but decided to stay at Clemson.
There's no bad blood.
