the conference's suspension of their head coach
Lest we forget the punishment was ONLY for HC's being physically at the games. The rest of the weeks, the conference let HC be HC full time.

Let me take a wild guess. You think UGA should have been in over Michigan?
No, I think the committee got it as right as they ever have given that no one has the authority to dictate to the committee who does and does not get in THEIR playoffs. UGA had their shot and lost the SECCG by 3 points.
Now, if you're asking me if I think UGA would be competitive with either Washington or Michigan, I think the answer to that is categorically yes and anyone who thinks that UGA would get run out of Houston either has an agenda or has not followed College football very much. The playoff, 21 and 22 included, have NEVER been about pitting the best teams against one another, they have always been about the best story line. UGA having a shot at CFB history with the 3 peat would have been a helluva story but 3 teams that haven't done much in the last 20 or 30 years, 2 of which are generally considered blue bloods for some convoluted reason, was as interesting to the general CFB world as UGA winning another natty. If there were a 12 game playoff this season UGA would have been favored to win against anyone in the field and would have been the odds on favorite to win it all. UGA is categorically one of the best 2,3, 4 10 or 100 teams in the nation and anyone who doesn't understand that is simply blind or obtuse.
Finally if CFB had a regulatory body which had any reason to exist OTHER than promoting a basketball tournament in March Michigan for certain would have been DQd aftter taking a plea deal from the conference. As it is IF Michigan manages to win there is a 50/50 chance that the win will be vacated at some future date. It would have happened for certain 10 years ago if a similar situation had arisen but given the state of CFB today it is a pick 'em.

This will ensure Bama can't whine, "Michigan shouldn't have been there because they cheated."
I've yet to hear any Bama fan complain about Michigan being there. If anything, we had the NC served up on a platter with Michigan in the 1st round. And we blew it.

I have found it to be very easy to cheer against Michigan the last few years. Interested to see Washington as I have not really watched any of their games this year.

I was pulling for Washington but now changed to Mich. Can you imagine all of the west coast lefties screaming that Penix was robbed of the heisman? So for that reason I am pulling for Mich.

2nd. They haven’t been caught “cheating” and are not currently under NCAA investigation.
Really should maintain the actual record on Michigan's cheating. They accepted the punishment handed down by the conference without appeal. They took a plea deal. They know ALL too well that there is a helluva lot of fire there are are banking on winning it and, with no governing body in CFB other than an organization that promotes a basketball tournament in March, rolling the dice on their win, should they win, not being vacated in the future. Had they not known there was substantial rules violations they would have quietly appealed to remove that blemish from their record. They knew there was no chance whatsoever that there wasn't enough known facts to be problematic and the Big10, who, remember, managed to get a team in the playoff just a few years ago after they played 7 or so games, wasn't going to go to bat for Michigan if Michigan balked at their penalty.

Washington. Penix was a Vol if not for that idiot Pruitt.

Agree here! I dislike the Gumps as much as you guys do, but not one bama fan that I know of has used "cheating" as a coping tool or as a crutch for their loss! If anything, they've pretty much stand up & took it better than other teams fans have, I'm serious...wish the o$u walNUTS fans could do that!

Strategic nuke game for me
But if we truly didn't wreck their top RB as badly as it seemed, UW takes it all.

Good! Tell them a Michigan fan told you that we're going to hit Peenix so hard tonight, rag-arm Mark Brunell will feel the pain!!!

I cant stand the Harbaugh. He couldn't win the big games so he resorted to cheating. I believe Wash's Ol will protect Penix well enough to shred Mich. If Mich gets into a hole early it will not end well. They are not going to be able to match score for score.

This time next year... one will still have a national championship, the other, if they win will have vacated it.

When did Alabama cheat? I'll wait for your response.
Before NIL when they bought and paid for the top recruiting classes. Bama recruits Facebook posting pics of their new cars and wads of cash the day after signing.
Remember when Trent Richardson had a brand new Maxima? Then he comes up with a brand new Yukon with $5000 worth of wheels and tires on it? He still had the Maxima.
An "unemployed", 20 year old college student with two children under the age of 5, and has two brand new rides. By the way, who was paying the child support?
Here is where he got those wheels. Hot Wheelz in Mobile, AL
Bear Bryant wrote the book on cheating. Nick Saban perfected it.
When did Alabama not cheat? If Alabama is winning, they're cheating.
