Correct, but the Yahoo story is precisely what triggered the urgent need to meet with Wade.

The NCAA has already been involved for at least a month that we know of, and as of yesterday, still no evidence.

I would assume they have.

Kind of like Bama deal with Sexton, he missed one game and no coaches were implicated.
Kind of like Auburn deal as players missed significant time and Person was shown the door but Pearl comes out clean and then goes and hires another assistant with similar issues.

Which is ridiculous because LSU had the info in October. Yahoo didn't get some super secret tip and released the excerpts from the tape. That was on record last year. Yahoo just tried to drop the info along with all the tourney stuff going on to get the most clicks possible.

Any NCAA investigation isn't going to turn up anything LSU compliance hasn't already found. But keep living on that prayer.

Imagine the melt if alleva resuspends him

The NCAA would have to find something totally brand new. Other schools don't know the names Miriam and Bo.

If they had found anything, they wouldn't tell anyone until the notice of allegations was made official.
Louisville got their notice of inquiry last week and supposedly Arizona and Kansas have also been put on notice.

Stemming from the FBI’s college basketball corruption case that gave new details about Louisville and other schools during trials that played out the past several months, the Cardinals are expected to receive a follow up written notice of inquiry from the NCAA at a later time.
According to a Louisville spokesperson, the NCAA called on March 8th in an initial step in its process.
Arizona and Kansas have been the other schools reportedly contacted by the NCAA after similar evidence against them was presented in federal court during those same trials.
Maybe the NCAA turns up nothing on LSU. Just because LSU compliance bends over backwards to help the NCAA doesn't mean the NCAA won't do everything they can to find the dirt.
We are all just hoping nobody squeals and no dirt can be found.

Joe doesn't have much time left. An entire plane full of TAF supporters set their sights on him as soon as LSU was bounced from the tourney.

If I were an Auburn basketball fan, I might lay a little low. Just sayin'

LSU knew in October about an alleged "strong arse offer" for a kid currently at LSU?

Or hire Bruce Pearl's lawyer.
Always solid advice.

LSU compliance scares me more than the NCAA I've never seen a department more adept at finding dirt. If there was any possible evidence of wrongdoing, LSU (with the NCAA's involvement) would have never 1) Cleared Smart to play, and 2) Reinstated Wade.

I don't think this is accurate. LSU knew about the first tape last April, and the Smart tape about 6 weeks ago.

Please email Pete and ask how that "scoop" ended.

College football has been rocked before by allegations of under-the-table payoffs, said Pete Thamel in The New York Times, but the Cam Newton story has the potential to be the “most explosive” scandal in the sport’s history.

Smart would not have played again based on that NCAA meeting. Similar thing happened with Sexton at Bama and he only missed one game and the Auburn players missed an entire season.
Wade's situation was a little more complicated. He needed advice of counsel and his career could have been over had he met when LSU wanted him to meet with them and NCAA. Wade could have been backed into a corner he could not have gotten out of. By waiting, the narrative changed when the Feds interceded and will look to prevent Wade from having to testify. Even if he does have to testify I'm sure his lawyer will tell him he doesn't have to say anything under oath. That will make Wade look bad but Wade does have legal rights in all of this that he has to exercise.
It's a no win situation for LSU. They do have to protect the program at all costs but they also have to honor their contract with Wade until there is a breach of that contract that can be proven in a court of law or by the NCAA and Wade is not on trial in this court case.

I hear you.
But I wouldn't bank on the NCAA telling LSU compliance what the NCAA has or hasn't found.
They expect schools to be cooperative and share with the NCAA. The NCAA is under no obligation to do likewise.
Granted, we have come a long way from when Daddy Dale called the NCAA the Gestapo and said we should send some Shiite Muslims with hand grenades to NCAA headquarters. And it took them many years to get Dale but they finally did.

So why is everyone so worried at WW at LSU? This literally means nothing.
