"Despite being reinstated, Wade appears to be far from finished with his involvement in the college basketball scandal."

quote:

NCAA Enforcement representatives told Yahoo Sports that they have been waiting for the feds to finish their work before fully launching what figures to be many investigations.

Everything else in the article is recycled content.

As some Louisiana media have noted, LSU was only so supportive in reinstating Wade:

Read between the lines of Joe Alleva's statement and it sounds like the lifting of #LSU basketball coach Will Wade's indefinite suspension might be temporary.

Quote of the Night from LSU athletic director Joe Alleva: "Coach Wade's explanations and clarifications offered - absent actual evidence of misconduct - satisfy his contractual obligation to LSU." He's not saying he believes Wade, but Wade meeting and answering satisfies contract

Wade’s players have to be thinking, “Geez, if you meet with LSU and NCAA earlier, you could’ve coached us in the Tournament”

Im no lawyer but I suspect it has something to do with technical language in that $10 million buyout and making sure they dont have to pay it

As the feds are quite literally trying to keep Wade out of it...

So the NCAA is telling Yahoo that they will investigate? That's usually how an investigation goes, right?

Tell everyone about your suspect and give him a few weeks warning to clean up after himself.

I told you, they are going to set up camp in BR. We'll see if Wade has learned to cheat better soon enough

I don't understand why his buy out matters. Pretty sure they could have fired him for insubordination.

I'm curious why the decision was made on a Sunday night after meeting on Friday when it looked like more talk was needed.

Perhaps LSU fans are correct and Wade has some boosters/donors on his side.

I also don't see the university shite canning the president or AD - like most LSU fans want.

I am aware.

They are trying to keep Wade out for now because it helps the defense and they want to starve the defense of anything helpful.

The feds may still choose to share what they have (whatever that may be) with the NCAA when the trial has finished playing out.

Nobody knows.

He did eventually come in and talk.

He's got a contract and is lawyered up.

No easy answers for LSU here. Probably best to reinstate him. Now they have Wade on the record and can cut him loose in a New York minute if real evidence gets dropped in NCAA's lap.

I think it's be the judge, not the Feds, who decide that. These are wiretaps involving at least one private party who is not under criminal investigation.

Even if they are handed out, do you really think the transcript has anything juicier on Wade than the defense attorney and Yahoo trickled out over 3 pathetically identical yet reworded Yahoo "stories?". Nope.

You believe that the NCAA told Yahoo an investigation was coming?

Wouldn't that be a bit silly since it gives LSU time to prepare (aka, cover their arse)?

A blind man could have seen an NCAA investigation coming. At this point, without Wade testifying, who knows if they'll find anything, but this case was always going to be investigated by the NCAA.

Not really. There's quite a few people who dislike me on here because I go against the grain. This board also has a lot more LSU fans that will simply downvote and say ignorant shite because it's against their team. I get it. Your comment will not stop me from posting though, simply because you or someone else disagrees.

If you guys get rid of your AD or President, cool. Youre pretty ignorant if you think they won't go down fighting though. This whole situation is a cluster.

An NCAA investigation is definitely coming. It's why Smart and a bunch of others are getting out of BR as fast as they can. Will they find anything? Who knows
