West Virginia is full of phony "insiders" that relentlessly post their dreams in hope to influence reality.

Im not sure about them tbh. Seems like they are on a hard decline and the school is not trying to improve.

Do we really want another Appalachian Hillbilly school in the SEC? I think one is enough. Plus we already have the Ozark Hillbillies too.

My issue about ND is the B1G people that think under no situation should they pass on ND & focus on improving the conference.

ex.: Say it’s 2065 & ND still hasn’t joined. Will the “maybe tomorrow’s the day” thinking still apply?

If we're discussing schools to pair with UNC, I would much rather have Virginia Tech or even NC State (assuming Clemson and FSU are no).

No. I’m discussing this “conversation” that has only showed up on XII media.

As to NC, I prefer Va. or VT. Duke is an “eh”. You got bb, but a small private school.
WV…..ABSOLUTELY NOT! They complain about XII travel & main rivals are in ACC.

I’ve only “seen/heard” about it on XII YouTube channels.

Hince the confusion as to WTF? is this.

Notre Dame attempted to join the Western Conference soon after it began, but was consistently denied. They beat Michigan, and afterward, the Wolverines' coach had the league boycott the Fighting Irish, who got the nickname after that game.

Then came Rockne, and he built the program to such an extent that they decided to stay independent.

They will soon have to jump to one of the P2 unless they want to be stuck with the Big12 and ACC. It is an odd situation.

Mizzou dominates in Meth production because we neighbor kansas and Arkansas. Entrepreneurship.

Los Angeles is the largest port by far and it’s not even close.

Up, looks like I was wrong. Houston recently surpassed South Louisiana:

WV is far more southern in culture and tradition than Mizzou, imo.

I would say culturally there are more similarities...especially to those Appalachian SEC States. That being said...neither is extremely close to the Geographical Center of the conference.

Yes...I understand using Hayleyville, Alabama includes Missouri already being part of the conference and slightly skews the location. Regardless...

Hayleyville to Columbia, MO - 526 Miles
Hayleyville to Morgantown, WV - 714 Miles

If we go back to 2024, when there were divisions...and went from the SEC East (which MIZZOU was part of and WVU would be part of), the GC is Cleveland, TN...but that is including MIZZOU, which is an extreme outlier...so, let's look at what it was in 2011 (can't make this 5hit up...Cleveland, GA).

Cleveland, GA to Columbia, MO - 682 miles
Cleveland, GA to Morgantown, WV - 533 Miles

So, while MIZZOU is closer to the SEC Center...were this Pre-2012 SEC, it would have been a better move for the SEC East to add WVU.

Impressive that Louisiana has 2 ports on that list. What does the state do with the revenue?

It is amazing how ignorant most who post on this board really are, especially buckl. His team is not even in the SEC, but he spends more time on here than most.

I am going to try to explain it to y'all as clearly as I can. No other teams are joining the SEC unless the SEC can profit off of it and make more money for the existing SEC members. They will not allow any school in the SEC that is going to make the existing school's checks smaller. It is really that simple. It does not matter how good they are or if they are a "cultural" fit. We already have too many in the league that don't carry their own financial load.

With that being said, It really narrows down the list. There are not that many teams out there that could increase everyone's paycheck.

They want so bad to be recognised by everyone as the most dominant , winning , coolest team in USA but lets look at the facts, they wear purple like Barney and before Nick Saban brought them one they didnt win shite for like 70 years.
They just dont stack up to teams like Ohio State, Bama, USC and Texas
And you can tell by demeanor of all those teams they know they are great but LSU has a desperation in every text and breath.
Easily identifiable as inferior

There is a 0% chance that WV joins the SEC at this point. I'd say the odds for SEC expansion candidates in the next five years are:

Clemson: 75%
Florida State: 50%
UNC: 50%
Virginia: 25%
VT: 25%
NC State: 25%
Miami: 10%
GT: 10%
Duke: 10%
Notre Dame: 5%
Louisville: 2.5%
All others: 0%

Seems like there is already a backroom deal with UNC, so I would list them at the top. Don't be surprised if the partner with them is Miami to get the south Florida market, despite it being a really shitty match.

Kansas is just a good addition in my opinion. They’re consistently funneling money into their athletics program. They’re familiar with many current members of the SEC. They would have one of the best football/basketball combo coaching staffs in the SEC. Instantly raises the basketball profile of the conference. I just worry about would happen to KSU. Kansas State is too iconic to just fade into CFB History. That purple wildcat deserves a seat at the table somewhere.

West Virginia is one of those states you never think about when planning a vacation. Riddled with poverty, poor education, drug abuse, juvenile delinquency and teen pregnancy. And a Stone Age mentality that still values coal. And, BTW, no big TV markets.

Hard pass.

It sounds just like Louisiana except at least they speak english.
