This thread isnt about me. or Mizzou.

It's about Orgeron getting his offense installed by Saints coaches.

Reading comprehension is hard. Maybe you should consider seeking outside help.

Coach O did.

Well, why doesn't Missouri consult with their local NFL team?

Oh, wait.

Nevermind.

This thread...It's about...offense

Allow me to re-iterate:
quote:

Missouri (2-3, 0-2) struggled to sustain drives and didn't score until executing a reverse pass from receiver Eric Laurent to quarterback Drew Lock with 6:11 left in the game. LSU dominated time of possession, 42:33 to 17:27 [!] and ran 82 plays to Missouri's 60. LSU also finished with 634 yards -- the school record for an SEC game- to Missouri's 265.

Dear Mr. Odom:

Consider seeking outside help

Respectfully,

LSU

how is this different from Alabama consulting with other coaches when Saban was trying to install an up-tempo offense? Or the new status quo in college football of a shadow staff full of consultants being paid next to nothing? It's probably time for you to step away from this thread. Consulting with NFL coaches is commonplace in college football and actually smart.

Maybe if Odom explored this option, he could win more games with his potential #1 draft pick at QB.

I wish my school could do that with the Rams to develop a passing game. We went from Air Coryell, to Wisconsin lite.

By no means am I saying O is on their level. But this is a big part of what makes Saban, Saban. And it's something Smart has adopted at UGA. Not settling for what you have, but continuing to change and adapt. And certainly taking outside advice and getting someone else to look at what you're doing is a big part of that.

Case in point, when Alabama lost to OSU in 2014, Smart called Herman and asked him what he saw as the flaw in Bama's D and how he attacked it. Smart and Saban immediately began changing their D to deal with spread attacks that were taking over college football. They no longer were looking for guys like T. Cody anymore as they needed speed at every position.

Dan Mullen met with Belicheck. It is more uncommon for a power 5 coach to not reach out to the NFL. You see plenty of assistant coaches make the jump to or from the NFL.

It's generally smart at any job in any field, especially one as high profile as a college head coaching job, to seek advice from outside sources. As an attorney, I know I do when I need a second set of eyes on a complex issue that isn't black and white.

Yes he is

This might be the dumbest thread I've seen on this board in months, and that's saying something.

I think the last time LSU played Missouri (2016) our shitty offense had 634 yards, had the ball for almost 43 minutes, broke school records, and won 42-7. So maybe instead of “ outside help” we just need more Missouri.

I agree with you everyone here in that consulting other coaches is common practice.

However, how stupid do you have to be to tell a reporter exactly what areas of your offense are still “a work in progress” (I.e. problem areas offensively)less than a month before the season begins? Cooking Monster just basically admitted that they suckmat their screen game, passing to RB and...holy crap THE RED ZONE?? Why the hell would he do that?

Y’all are really trying to make something out of nothing. Shocker

What coach hasn’t said that they need to get better at a certain aspect of the game?

I’m all for bashing Ed 0 but come the frick on.

I guess he figured everyone has looked at all the game film of LSU's offense for the last 4 years to see that LSU sucks at screens, swing passes and red zone passing. He didn't count on the aggies being too stupid to figure it out.

But now he's gone and alerted A&M to our passing game woes....
