You realize coaching staffs in both college and pro consult with one another? At this very minute there's probably an NFL staff reaching out to a college coach for spread/RPO concepts.

Excellent post.

That, or either Cookie Monster doesn't have a clue what he's gonna run on offense this year.

However, how stupid do you have to be to tell a reporter exactly what areas of your offense are still “a work in progress” (I.e. problem areas offensively)less than a month before the season begins? Cooking Monster just basically admitted that they suckmat their screen game, passing to RB and...holy crap THE RED ZONE?? Why the hell would he do that?

These areas have been a problem at LSU for years. And if fans (non-coaches) can see that, don’t you think coaches around the league who spend hours s watching film already know these have been areas of weakness for LSU? He didn’t say what they are doing to change, just that they are areas they are working on.

Do you feel the same way when coaches say they’re trying to implement spread and read option packages? ZOMG HES SHOWING HIS HAND!!!

So Ed O should reject the advice of arguably the best offensive mind in football?

How should we improve our offensive numbers?

Mizzou - Schedule SW Missouri St every season and leave the starters in all game long.

how is this different from Alabama consulting with other coaches when Saban was trying to install an up-tempo offense? Or the new status quo in college football of a shadow staff full of consultants being paid next to nothing? It's probably time for you to step away from this thread

Consulting over the phone is one thing, maybe getting together for a film session .

Sending down an entire staff to install an offense is something else entirely.

Surely you'd agree the the spectre of incompetence is more than just an apparition in Baton Rouge.

I love how this
quote:

New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton allowed some of his offensive staff to come to LSU to help out with the offense. They studied their screen game, getting the ball to backs out of backfield, their empty package, their red zone package and their shot package.

Has now turned into this

Sending down an entire staff to install an offense is something else entirely.

Based on the article it sounds like “maybe getting together for a film session” is exactly what happened. Like I said, probably time to back away.

“Some of his offensive staff” is not the same thing as “his entire offensive staff”

Watching a few offensive packages does not equal “installing their offense”

Seriously, how dumb are you really? Either that or you’re desperate for this thread to mean something you want it to.

What do you think happens when coaches consult with one another? Talking on the phone? Chip Kelly met with the entire Alabama staff to work with spread concepts. Seriously, again, step away. You’re looking more ignorant with each post

This literally happens all the time. Members from nfl teams come in, watch film, and discuss concepts with college coaches. That’s essentially exactly what the article in the OP says. You’re creating additional things that happened that weren’t even in the article Orgeron is a moron. There is no need to manipulate a story to show that

This thread has nothing to do with Nick Saban ( although LSU fans keep popping in with his name) or Mizzou, or personal attacks regarding my intelligence or lack thereof.

Its clear in the original link, Eddie Jim was desperate, begging for help. Sean Payton obliged.

Just accept it.

Well you brought him into this thread alluding that he’d never consult with Bill B, when, in fact, he has, among other coaches. The point being, as every fan from every other fan base has said, what Orgeron is doing is SOP

I love the effort, but the saints run one of the most complicated offenses in history and call a minimum of two plays each down with each receiver required to anticipate coverages and stay on the same page as the qb

We are 3 years removed from running the power I.
