Yeah.

I missed all of the message boards of teams "missing" the opportunity to visit tuscaloosa.

Thanks for catching that with no evidence whatsoever.
I can't believe that you even insinuate that Alabama/Tuscaloosa lacks tradition. Every year the TV Networks bring their crews to Tuscaloosa on every possible occasion. Hell, if you ask the average college football fan anywhere in the country, he'll tell you that Tuscaloosa is the "face" of college football.

So many college football fans have been bitching and moaning on message boards because the Alabama AD has been locking them out of away visits to Tuscaloosa. Said no fan ever.

I didn't say Tuscaloosa has no tradition.
I said Tuscaloosa has no tradition that attracts opposing fanbases.

Where have the home and homes been? Where has the outcry from out of conference teams that they can't visit tuscaloosa? Ive seen Bama fans want to go on the road. Never the opposite.

I guess the program had to do something to offset the annual Vols game.

As I said, Bama fans used to enjoy the big time neutral sight venues, but have gotten tired of them now (same places and very expensive...we're spoiled), so you can see that we're getting with Notre Dame and Texas for home-and-home games to start with.
Personally, I think that the big time neutral sight games are great, if they'd expand the venues to other places (Las Vegas, Washington D.C., etc for example).
Also I've never seen ANY bitching and moaning about being "locked out" of going anywhere to play anybody. All I've ever seen is folks on TV holding signs that read WE WANT BAMA!

Tennessee's 20-10-3 all time against LSU!..think again.
...or did you mean to offset the LSU game.

I think Louisville defined complete implosion.

Talk about falling off a cliff.

What about FSU after the Alabama game? It seems to happen often after a 1st game encounter with Alabama. Maybe that's why they're not getting many takers anymore. no brag, just a fact.

Bama's OOC scheduling has been as good, if not better, than most of the SEC over the past decade.

Had some bad luck with the opponents sucking the year we played them, but you schedule these games sometimes 5-6 years in advance and you have no way of knowing how good someone will be by time you play them.

Our OOC schedule this year is absolutely AIDS but overall during Saban's tenure it's been very legit.

I mean I think that's a very good OOC schedule. However, not many of those schools are real top 10 schools. Penn State when you played them was an 8 win team. VT hasn't been good in a while. WVU? nah Wisconsin plays a similar style to Bama (pre 2016) and they aren't close to as good or athletic to implement it

Clemson was in 2008 so that is basically like playing Wake Forest or BC in 2018.

Louisville in 2018 was a joke

I think it's a case of where the team looks good on paper, then is a paper tiger when the game is played.

OSU has done a similar type of scheduling lately. Cal/VT/Miami were all good when OSU scheduled them, but weren't anywhere near that glory when they played the games. So i absolutely understand it happening

I won't knock Bama's OOC schedule, since they play name teams.

In defense of Penn State, they were 8-1 and #12 before the shite (Sandusky) hit the fan in 2011.

The Louisville game was scheduled in 2015 when they were coming off a 9 win season and top 25 finish.

It's 9-8-1 in favor of LSU since integration.

I'm wondering when's the last time each SEC program played at least 2 AQ/P5 OOC in the same season. We just did in 2017 and are doing it again this year. Same with Georgia and South Carolina. I know LSU played Oregon and West Virginia in 2011.

The problem is the other 3 teams each year are a joke. SEC needs to go to 9 conference games.

I'd like to see 9 conference games + 1 P5 + 1 G5 + 1 in-state FCS.
Or 8 conferences games with 2 P5.

I like 8 conference games with 2 P5s.

Going to a 9 conference game schedule will lead to more bitching. Why? Because the league office does that scheduling.

As opposed to OOC games where the AD should listen to the fanbase and go where they want to go. Better control over the scheduling with the OOC.

And WV was scheduled right after they went 10-3 and hung 70 on Clemson in a bowl game.

Alabama has had some bad (or good depending on your fandom) luck of teams being in a down cycle when games are played.

I am more just thinking they are a better program now than they were then if that makes sense.

Looked at the 2011 schedule to see what happened to them and their wins at the time were:

Indiana St. Temple, E. Michigan, Indiana, Iowa, Purdue, Northwestern, Illinois. I didn't know anyone's 8 wins could be worse. They got into the real meat of their schedule at the very end, but yea I guess they were ranked highly before that skid
