I've watched my team win one NC in my life and it was with a great offense and serviceable defense, so I'll take the great offense.

2010 auburn defense was far more than serviceable. They were #1 def against the run, 1st in TO margin and #1-2 in third def. that's more than serviceable.

I just don't think you can win the SEC on offense alone. You're going to need at least a very good defense. There was a period in the 90s while the entire West sucked balls that it was possible, but that era is long gone. Also, when is the last time a defensive leader failed to make a bowl (or at least a good bowl)? The last time the offensive leader didn't make a bowl was last year

So true. A great offense, you can always prepare for, but a great D, you can't simulate rape in practices.

Defense.
Couple that with a good o-line, and it's hard to beat.

Defense. That's always been my favorite side of the ball.

Whatever wins, though.

Defense, but with all the rule changes it will be harder to have now

I'm more pumped when the Gator defense takes the field, than the offense, so I'd rather have a great D.

I get frustrated with a Defense that gives up 3rd downs and points. I would rather have a lockdown defense.

Defense without question. After seeing one of the best offenses coupled with one of the worst defenses, the results make the decision painfully clear.

I'd rather have above average of one and elite of the other.

It doesn't really matter which one at that point.

Great defense and a competent offense won us two national championships. Last year we had a great offense and good defense and we won but last years team seemed deficient to me until the ND game. If we can hold aTm to 21 points or less I will be sold that this is a great defense but we will see.

Defense. Loved us scoring 40 pts every game last year but hated seeing the opponent score 50.

As a Gator fan I don't really know what to say. It does seem however when a great defense goes up against a great offense the defense will usually hold serve (08 OU vs UF) but when a bad offense goes up against a bad defense it seems like the offense can move the ball at will.
