Yes. I don’t say that lightly.
Most talented ever is still JaMarcus Russell
Best overall career is Tommy Hodson, unless Joe wins the title this year
Bert Jones likely holds the best QB eve title right now
But he’s gonna set numbers this year that we may not see broken at LSU in our lifetimes.
He’s on pace for 50 passing TDs. The LSU single season record is 28

Jamarcus Russell won a natty. Let’s wait and see what burrow does from here.

I know that Bama claims a lot of national titles that can be disputed, but we don't really play that game.

Burrow couldn't hold Jamarcus' jock strap. In this offense Jamarcus is Bo Jackson level on Tecmo Bowl.
No way. Jamarcus could not read defenses and did not have a great work ethic. He had all the physical talent but he did not have the work ethic. Joe is much better than Jamarcus was in his junior year.
Now, Rohan in this offense would be better than Joe. Rohan was a gamer dude just like Joe, but had some better physical gifts.

Uh, no he did not. 2004-2006 he was on the team. We won championships 2003 and 2007. Actually the 2006 team was the most talented in a long time, but JR threw some key INTs in big games and we did not compete for a championship.

Did Russell not technically win a natty?

YA Title-Bert Jones-Tommy Hodson had great careers. Joe Burrow is having easily the best season. He is shattering Rohan Davey’s single season records.

I’m getting my hopes up that he is the start of a run of great QBs here.
I know he’s in a favorable offense, but he has a combination of brains, arm, and....what’s the word I’m looking for, maybe gumption, that is rare for an LSU QB.

yes, as a redshirt freshman in 2003. he didn't actually play that year.

well you're wrong. jamarcus was on the team in 2003 but redshirted. he played in the 2004,2005, and 2006 seasons.

Burrow couldn't stand at the 50 of Death Valley and throw the ball outta the stadium. Jones damn near did - put it in the top 5 rows.
Doesn't matter if you can throw a ball out of the stadium, but it does matter if you can hit your receivers and score. Bert Jones was a damn good quarterback, but the jury is still out on who is the best quarterback in LSU history.
