What about Mauck coming off the bench to crush Tennessee's program?

Pretty close race between Burrow and Mettenberger.

Stay tuned.

No. From a pure talent standpoint, Jamarcus and it ain’t close. Dude had a cannon. Too bad he pissed it away in the NFL

I hope it’s 1 vs 2 but we gotta beat Auburn first

If so, and certainly the qb battle scenario you mentioned, it may be one of the best games we’ve seen in a very long time

Talent is only part of it baw

Burrow is a better qb than Jamarcus. He’s a better leader, competitor, and more accurate.

Jamarcus could throw it further, for sure. And he wasn’t inaccurate. But joe is on pace to shatter multiple LSU records. He’s on another level

The best there ever was the best there ever will be

Last throw in Bama game will be TD to Jefferson.

Jefferson gives Borrow ball to spike he does and knocks out color changing LEDs at Bama

If Jamarcus was in this offense, his numbers would look similar

Jamarcus threw the ball a ton my man

I hear you, and agree they are probably the top 2 in my life time, but he was on some very talented teams and put up ridiculous numbers

Burrow is better, significantly, in all the areas I mentioned

Imo

The difference between JaMarcus and Joe Burrow is that Joe can actually read the defense and make adjustments and check down his progressions. That’s why Jamarcus’ talent didn’t transfer to the NFL well

Some of it is due to the system but alot of his and the team's improvement is due to Brady showing them how to practice and how to get better. Burrow said himself he had gotten a little lazy on his foot work, he worked hard during the off season to get better.

I vote for big balls Joe. Jamarcus was great but had a tendency to fumble when scrambling. Joe also has that moxie. Is tough as hell and when he gets hit hard, just pisses him off more. Ask UCF about that lol.

Jefferson, Chase, and Marshall showed glimpses last year of what might be but this year they have improved even more than Burrow. I'm sure that's partly the system too but they have been incredible. Chase in particular is better every week.

Burrow definitely on pace for the best college single season. Hard to say he yet is the best ever, considering Jones won the MVP one year in the NFL. Bill Belichick called Jones the best “pure passer” he had ever seen.

Joe Burrow is a Zen master ninja Kung Fu quarter backing machine that probably likes jambalaya because who doesn't?

I've been watching since 1980 or so and he's hands down the best I've seen
In this scheme.

Going into this season, I thought he was a marginal NFL prospect, and with a good season might push himself into the 3rd or 4th rd. At this point, he's a 1st rd prospect and a damn Heisman Trophy candidate.

I'm as big a Saints fan as I am an LSU fan, and to clarify: I'm NOT one of those guys who say the Saints should get every LSU player. I've enjoyed watching Drew Brees for more than a decade, as one of the best QBs in history. And I 100% want the Saints to draft Burrow somehow- the timing is right to groom an heir, and Burrow has been just SO accurate and efficient. He looks like a perfect fit.

Still not fully determined, but I would go ahead and say Tua is the best to ever play qb at Alabama. Pretty crazy they will be playing each other, regular season, 1 v 2 matchup. It’s probable that it’s 2 of the 3 heisman finalists. Going to be an awesome game and a lot of whiskey will be needed with the type of game it’s going to be.

Good point, good post. It's pretty wild to see. Great time to be alive for both fanbases.

Yes.

Way above Hodson, who was my biggest hero as a kid, and according to my dad above Bert Jones.

In a few more games, he will be more iconic than Tittle.

Next question?

This is why I don't like talking football to LSU fans. Burrow couldn't hold Jamarcus' jock strap. In this offense Jamarcus is Bo Jackson level on Tecmo Bowl. Some of y'all LSU fans are way too quick to jump on the latest and greatest. Jamarcus and Rohan Davey would light it up in this offense.
