86K is good, but this would put us over 100K I would presume. First we have to win this year.

one of the most under-rated stadiums in the nation.

Couldn't agree more. Really great atmosphere at night.

I have been to every stadium in the conference and Jordan Hare is at the top with LSU and UF for the loudest. No others are close to those three.

Went to Jordan Hare in 2000 for that night game with LSU. AU won 34-17 on ESPN and it was a fanstastic atmosphere.

Why would you expand Jordan-Hare when you cant sell out what you've got.
Posted on 8/27/09 at 2:17 pm to 4nmylifetime
I think they sold out a game last year....
Of course, they were offering some really cheap season ticket packages, between the 15 yard lines, a month or so ago too...

Why not? If you build it, they will come.

Because they are not even coming now for what you have built. Why would you want 14k more empty seats than what you already have for some games?

But what if they don't. I'm not trying to be a smartass here because I honestly don't know if auburn sells out or fills up their stadium or not...but if they don't right now as I see some people are saying, would it really be a wise investment???

Can't even fill it up now, why would you expand it?

The big games are selling out AU ran 98% capacity last season overall average. Each year ticket demand goes up in the long run it would be nice.
With that said the expansion won't happen for 10 years give or take due to the massive costs associated with it.

You could look at it this way...Auburn is building a damn nice, totally new basketball arena right now, and they don't sell out, or have the level of success the football team has...
I wish Bama would build a new, state of the art basketball complex too, but in the same location as the current one.

But "they" aren't coming to ALL of the games AU plays now, with what you've already built.
However, attendance sure didn't stop y'all from builing and new basketball arena that cost more than $90mm.

You never saw the old one, it was among the best cash we've ever spent.

Auburn has as much trouble putting people in the stands as we do.
They have a much larger stadium, though.

It's built, they're not coming!

You 'Bama guys need to get off your high horse. It wasn't too long ago that little Mikey Shula in his Bobby Brady voice was hawking various packages to Alabama home games right before the season started and into the regular season all over Birmingham radio.
