Ok I didn't look up any of that when I wrote it. It's not that bad considering he was a shitty backup from a mediocre Auburn team that played one game 12 years ago.
He actually started a few games in 99 when Leard was injured.
He started against UT @ Neyland that year.

quote:DUDE...you would have to be inhuman to not feel for the guy. You could tell his heart was just broken...then holy hell was he a man possesed on the kickoff return. He looked like somebody shot him up with PCP right before. You are right not to blame him...all coaches. That was an insanely stupid playcall.
You could tell Ed was torn up about fumbling it, and damn near killed himself on the ensuing kickoff, trying to take it all the way to make up for it.

that 1997 iron bowl call is burned in my memory.

Yep, hands down for me. I was at that game and specifically remember saying that all they had to do is run the ball and burn up time.
When Kitchens turned to pass, the whole stadium had a WTF moment.

I'm sure this happened with some of the 'tards in our fanbase, but I never begrudged Scissum for the fumble whatsoever.
Especially considering that on the ensuing kickoff (I think) he got the ball and goddammittohell I thought Auburn would NEVER tackle him... sumbitch did NOT want to go down.
(I stopped reading your post and now realize you pretty much said the same thing farther down.

the ed scissum play is without a doubt the worst play i've ever witnessed.didn't bama's OC get canned after that game?

Yep. Dubose did that to deflect from himself. I would have celebrated all night if Dubose would've been fired at midfield at the end of the game.
Man, think of the heartache that little dose of preemptive surgery would have prevented. Dubose had inherited a team that had gone 10-3, won the SEC West Champs, and was #11 in the final poll...and went 4-7.

Surprised Arky fans haven't mention the play call in 1998 where they called they called the fumble-rooski with Clint Stoerner against UTK giving UTK the game and eventually the last challenge before their Natl Championship. That play was fricked up
Yeah, Nutt calling for a pass in that game was pretty fricked up.

I don't know if this can be considered the worst in history considering we were already losing big and had no shot at winning but this backwards lateral / overthrow on a KO return vs UF in 2009 just made things from bad to worse.

2002 Auburn Florida. Tuberville decides to have Damon Duval fake a punt out of our own endzone. Of course, the UF special teams was able to handle Duval's special juke moves and got an easy 3 points out of it. We lost in overtime.

And the guy who called the play is the OC of the Steelers. They must have never seen that tape

You're not too bright, are you?
Just kidding. But the OP is asking for fricked up play calls by your coach or any coach I guess, not calls by refs.
I should not post on these boards before I've had my 2 cups of coffee.

Kudos to Auburn, but that was just stupid on LSU's part.
Was about to post about Jamie's three pick sixes in '94. On the coach. He should not have been passing. Could have gone to victory formation and punted each possession before the first pick and Auburn would not have ever come close to catching up. Our D was shutting them down.

pretty much every time we had a short yardage situation and ran a pass or draw out of the shotgun while leaving Jorvorskie Lane on the sideline to rot.

Not the worst, but the most obvious one right now is the decision to punt on 4th and 1 against Tenn in 2010 when we had a lot of things going our way. It has basically defined Joker's career as HC up to this point.

Last coaching job by Saban at LSU in a Bowl game on the last play. Iowa had to score a TD to win and Saban's great D let the tight end go right up the middle and no one covered him. Pass...TD.....Saban goes to Miami......worst D play ever....
Motherfricking this...Lame duck Saban shite the bed on his way out the door.
