Apparently the trophy A&M made for Jimbo is now at a bar in Austin.

I think you might be referring to the one at Dirty Martin’s. It’s a fake. And Dirty’s is not a bar but a/the legendary Austin burger joint. The greatness of the food was somewhat tarnished when they changed the grease in the fryer in 1993 but the flavor has come back after it seasoned for about 30 years.

Anyone you think of from the current HCs in the SEC that resembles the one you just posted?
I am thinking about when LSU refuses to interview Sunbelt Billy for the LSU HC job and ended with Kelly.

I'm confused. It's fun shitting on BK but he's 10x the coach Napier ever will be

Didn't Florid beat LSU last season? Why can't Napier do it again this year? I will give it a 40/60 percent for Florida to get a win against LSU this coming season.

Mike Archer was hired over Steve Spurrier in 1987. Spurrier was passed over for the LSU job despite his desire to coach there. Instead, LSU hired Archer, who had been an assistant coach there previously. Spurrier went on to coach at Duke before eventually coaching at Florida.
THIS right here for LSU and then dumb arse Joe Dean does it again by hiring Hudson "Curley" Hallman to replace Archer.

Not committing to 9 conference games (yet) to preserve at least 3 common opponents/rivals each year

This... they could set it up to play up to 6 permanent opponents/rivals and play everyone else in the conference at least once every 3 years.

A conference is more than a single sport or school. Alabama football is offset by Kentucky basketball. As for Sewanee, they made the SEC with the "Iron Men", the greatest college football team of all time and a feat that will never be repeated today.

Say what you will about the Hogs, they are the poster child for a good SEC sports school. While they may not dominate a primary NCAA sport, they are competitive in all of them and "steel sharpens steel". It helps being the orphan non Texas school in the SWC they are feisty and loyal like a rescue dog generally exceeds a purebred for long term pals.

Kirby probably takes the UGA job anyhow in 2015.

This. Ray Tanner was in Kirby's kitchen, negotiating a contract in 2015 that would have Smart as HC at SC.

UGA donors caught word of it, and pressured the AD to fire Richt, and get Kirby.

Even if Kirby had taken the Auburn job, or the SC job, he would have left for UGA as soon as it was available. This was, and is, pretty much common knowledge.

I'm shocked Dirty's still exists. Everything else has been run out. Hang in there Dirty's.

Georgia Tech going independent in 1964 over a dispute over schools recruiting "extra" players and then cutting down to scholarship limits once they were on campus for tryouts. Bobby Dodd wanted the SEC to ban this practice and threatened to leave but the rest of the conference wouldn't vote with him, especially not in a threatening manner from one school. This is a well known blunder, but what is less known is that the conference ultimately banned this practice only 9 years after GT left and in 1973 GT tried and failed to rejoin the conference after independence became an on field and financial disaster for them. Memphis or FSU were floated as potential partners along with GT to get to an even 12 after Tulane left, but the SEC didn't want or need GT anymore so they stayed at 10.

This is THE worst mistake in SEC history and it's not even close

I kind of wonder if Schumann is trying to do the same thing with the Bama job. Let KDB be the guy that has to follow up Saban, disappoint due to the unrealistic standard of having to live up to the GOAT, then Schumann comes in. Not saying that is what I think will happen, but it might be his logic.

Auburn hiring Bryan Harsin although this did lead to one of the funniest SEC pseudoscandals of all time.
