This is just the data point needed to spur the SEC to get rid of the CCG. Will they do it? Probably not.
That said, similar to our position with a hobbled Quinn, (in addition to his ankle I hear he aggravated the previous Oblique injury vs aggy) I'm not 100% sure this isn't a net positive for the dawgs. It's not like Stockton was a low rated recruit so he obviously has skills. If nothing else this gives Georgia a head start on everyone else who has to replace their starting QB for next season.

The top 2 rookie receiving leaders in the NFL this year are sorely missed.

Beck may have been a bit erratic this year but he was the starter for a reason. Kirby obviously still trusted him over Stockton. Not that it matters much now. Injuries forced his hand.

What does this have to do with Bama missing the playoffs?
Didn't you know?
Get with the SECr program, prog!

Oregon just gave up 523 total yards and almost 300 rushing yards to Penn State.
They got manhandled and pushed around.
UGA or Texas can also manhandle them up front.

It looked exactly like Brock Purdy's injury from two years ago.
He got a procedure just short of a Tommy John called an internal brace and was ready for the next season.

I am not sure if that increases UGA's bid for a title or not.
That said, the small glimpse we got of Stockton (41 plays over 5 drives in 2H+OT, incl. 18 drop-backs and 5 runs) indicated he has moxie, physical toughness, and the team rallies around him. Seems to have “it”.
Beck seems to have less of these than Stockton, but Beck definitely has a mental toughness and a healthy short-term memory—critical for handling adversity—to go along with 5-star throwing talent, vision, scheme recognition ability, and in-game situational experience.
I’d still rather have Beck for these games. But, IMO, Stockton doesn’t hinder our chances to win until we match up with Oregon or Texas (or TN) in the Championship

It is not a popular strategy, but Kirby is a bit of an anomaly in today's game. Strong D and running the ball. Hould be fun to watch against an Oregon type team.
To varying degrees of capability, Texas, Tennessee, Clemson, Oregon, heck even ASU, Boise State and SMU, that I know of, are built this way.
Could be true for the midwestern schools, but I they’re boring so I don’t watch them.
Obvs some names above mentioned lack talent of UGA, but strategically they’re built the same. And just b/c you have Dillon Gabriel, Kevin Jennings, or Nico, doesn’t mean you’re not RB run-first schematically.

Yeah the same can be said of UGA. Nobody likes to see bowl cut trapsing around and crying like a bitch to the refs anymore than they have to.

While Beck has underperformed this year, my God the WRs are the worst in all of college football. I knew they had stone hands all year, but recall the announcers referencing the stat on dropped passes and UGA either had the most in the country or was near the top. How does a team like UGA recruit and/or develop such shite receivers?

Call me crazy, but I think this could be a Cordell Jones Ohio State situation where the back up is actually better than the starter and rallies the team
Beck has been meh for a month and Stockton knows the system well

A quarterback with a UCL (ulnar collateral ligament) tear in their throwing arm typically requires 9 to 12 months to recover, depending on the severity of the tear and treatment approach. If surgery (Tommy John surgery) is necessary, recovery may take closer to 12 months or longer. In less severe cases, where non-surgical treatments like rest and physical therapy are effective, the recovery time could range from 6 to 9 months. The timeline can vary based on the individual’s healing progress, but most quarterbacks return to play after a significant period of rehabilitation to restore arm strength and stability.
