I would think LSU would go for Coach with an Offensive background.

Who knows. I just hope they go after someone who isn't a CEO type of coach. We've been doing that for over 15 years now, and I'm ready to move on from that model. It seems to always create issues with continuity in the program when someone leaves for another job. Everyone can't be as lucky as Dabo has been with Venables not having any bigger career aspirations, but the CEO model is still starting to create problems for Dabo now that his offense is terrible and he doesn't have a franchise NFL QB to mask his issues.

Just give me a guy with experience as a head coach and experience winning as a head coach (I don't even really care if it's G5 HC experience necessarily), experience running one side of the ball, a guy familiar with the southeast, and a guy that knows how to recruit.

Yes. Neither of those will be offered because Woodward is poaching an excellent HC from the state's flagship university.

It will be a great hire.

Billy Napier will win a NC at LSU.

You heard it hear first.

It would worry Saban, Jimbo, Kiff, The Pirate....EVERYBODY.

He is the up and comer of NCAA football HCs.

I stand by my statement. He will be hired and will win a NC at LSU. Bookmark it.

How about Mario Cristobal? Decent HC experience, familiar with the SEC, good recruiter, and offensive background around the Oline.

Shiiit, Woodward's search began back in 2020.

Around the same time he was dealing with the federal investigation?

It does seem like LSU finally has some leadership happening. If O got fired mid-season under the old regime it would be more of the same and we'd all point and laugh. Appears there is a plan in place and in process- we'll know the plan soon enough.

Woodward has been a BIG step up from what we had.

And for all the fear-mongering about Tate, I'd guarantee you that F King would be public about wanting a minority coach to be interviewed first.
