We spent money on personnel, flights (those helicopter rides to high school games aren't cheap), and all sorts of "normal" recruiting efforts. It's why it's on the books with the NCAA.
When we're talking about A&M, we're talking about boosters paying players to attend a university, not simply trying to entice them with cool artwork with their face photoshopped into a school uniform.

Yeah….I’m sure that when Georgia and Bama do it, everything’s squeaky clean. Their boosters would never shell out money to try and retain dominance in recruiting.

Neither do we! You idiots are missing the point obviously. It’s not about the money for A&M because clearly we can outspend anybody in our conference. It’s the double standard by the media that we are complaining about, period!…..and I sure as hell am not complaining about Georgia spending money on “recruiting”, I have no beef with schools spending money……..it’s the media we have an issue with!

I think the general complaint on here is that in A&M’s case, the spending is met with abject failure combined with a quitter’s cowardice that makes a mockery of their beloved 12th man mystique.
