What we're going to miss in J-Will is all those 2nd and 3rd effort yards. He consistently picked up more yards where most backs would have been tackled or given up. He had power, he had moves, he had speed - a truly complete back that I don't think any of our backs match. Collins is great, but I've always thought J-Will was a little better.

So, I'm thinking that Collins could get a workload larger than Clay. Clay split with Ball and White, I think.

I agree. jwill would hit the hole full speed and if it wasn't there he would make a hole. he was going to get 3 yards just from his legs just churning. like I said if Collins will become more consistent he can replace what jwill did.

Damn 10 straight years with a 1,000 yard rusher is crazy.

A lot of those guys went for 1500+ as well.

Hell, three or four went for 2000+.

Yeah Bielema has never not had a 1,000 yard rusher. Almost had three in one season a few years ago.

Makes us wonder why more 5* RBs aren't interested in us this cycle since there will be an opening lol

well either way I appreciate the leg work you are doing. for everyone freaking out, some people even being fans of other teams know that CBB has a history of productive running backs and has had multiple 1k rushers multiple times. we are all sad, including some opposing fans, to see Jwill go down. But the fact of the matter is arkansas will keep churning on and will still be good but could have been better. next man up.

Arkansas has lost two big RBs to knee injuries late in the offseason recently: Knile Davis in 2011 and Johnathan Williams in 2015.

The way Davis closed the 2010 season was very impressive, 1028 yards and 12 TDs in seven games.

How many snaps per game will he be getting and who will be his back up?

I think Rawleigh Williams will share the most carries and hopefully he gets a lot. I'm sure Collins will get more, and that Bielema will use this as an opportunity to showcase Collins, but I hope he's limited to 275 or less. We need 2 good RB's, so someone needs to step up.

knee injuries

Knile broke his ankle and JWill broke a bone in his foot.

But yeah, eerily similar situations

Half of Williams and Collins yards came in OOC games. It would be shocking if Collins got very many extra carries against OOC teams. If anything you would think Bert would save him for conference play if he was smart. I would be shocked if Collins got more then 1300 yards this year.

Wow - you here talking about our rbs- who would have thought it???

I'm sure you were one who just grinned ear to ear when you saw JWill was injured.

Gonna be a season of what ifs without jwill playing. Alex Collins has yet to live up to expectations. Keeping my fingers cross, but the butt hurt has commenced...

5th year Jr 255 lb Kody Walker and Fr Rawleigh Williams III[RWIII] will now get JWill's carries and Damon Mitchell [Duwop] will probably get some of JWill's screen, sweeps, draws, and back in flats passes. A lot others but those will get most if not all of JWill's carries and Collins will get 5 to 10 more carries sometimes, but CBB won't over use him and save him for the end of the games and season, when the Hogs run and run the clock out.
