See you in the playoffs?
That would be awesome.. but we still have lots of work to do.. You guys will be there, so I’m definitely hoping we get to play you this year.
But if not this year, we’ll get our chance next year. Either way, we’re taking your streak if you still have it.

He has what 2 SEC titles in 7 seasons? Not bad.

It’s a great accomplishment, but in fairness only really relative to the last 20 years. The amount of rent a wins today is so many more than the previous iterations of college football
For example, Vince Dooley 1980-1982non conf opponents
Tcu
Clemson x2
A&M
Georgia tech x3
Cal
Temple
Byu
Memphis
Kirby’s out of conf opponents the last 3 seasons
UT martin
Ball state
UAB x2
Oregon
Samford
Kent state
Clemson
Charleston southern
Ga tech x3

Ngl, I thought he was going to be an abysmal failure and UGA was stupid to replace a relatively successful coach in Richt with an unknown with no prior HC experience and had only served as a DC at one program for a handful of years. That would have backfired bigly on any other SEC program 9 times out of 10.
Anyone who downplays his success with MUH WEAK SCHEDULE just has issues coping. No other team in that division is doing what UGA is doing with the same schedule.

Yeah.
The rent a wins in the CCG and playoffs are a little ridiculous.
UGA vs Auburn 2017: 28-7
UGA vs Michigan 2021: 34-11
UGA vs LSU 2022: 50-30
UGA vs TCU 2022 NCG: 65-7
You can only play who they roll out in front of you.

You completely missed the point being defensive. Congrats

Kirby did it in the East
Saban did it in the West

That wasn't your point?
Then why include it?
Kirby has had 2 extra post season games in 3 of his 7 seasons.
1 extra post season game in another 2 of his seasons.
(5 of his 7 seasons, he is playing more big time post season games than a Dooley or Bryant).

It’s not like he took on a train wreck. Richt always had UGA competitive.

Kirby better hope he don't.
It wasn't Ed and it never was. It was Burrow. Without Burrow, Ed is doing commercials for Rhoback.
Kirby can do it without a generational talent at QB.

Yeah, well, that was the Texas Champions at Life Bowl, and one UGA players took off. Congrats though. It gives you something to hang your drugstore cowboy hats on.

Georgia has won more nattys in the last 2 years than Texas has won in the last 50.

Richt was nothing if not the most consistent coach in the SEC during his time in Athens.
Consistent as in Richt's overtime win over Georgia Southern?
Consistent as in Richts late 4th quarter win over a 3-9 Georgia Tech team?
A win is a win. But overtime against a 9-4 Georgia Southern team?
You are being disingenuous saying that the 2015 team (and 2013 recruiting class) wasn't a train wreck.

Congrats Kirby! You the man!

Vince Dooley did not have the opponents in the SECCG or first round of the playoffs- always top ten teams and mostly top 5. It's a hell of an accomplishment in any era

If he loses, who would he tie?
If a win this weekend makes him #1 then I would I would assume he is already tied before the kickoff Saturday.
I am just going off the OP's info. I have no idea about these type of stats and don't really give a shite.

Tennessee at #23, Florida at #25.
The only ranked teams on the schedule for the year.
There are easy schedules, then there's the Georgia schedule.

I hate Saban but this shite is intellectually dishonest. Saban took over a train wreck dumpster fire, a legitimate rebuild. Richt was nothing if not the most consistent coach in the SEC during his time in Athens. Kirby no doubt was what GA needed to go to the next level. But the cupboards were far from bare. Kirby didn’t rebuild shite at Georgia any more than Urban Meyer did at Ohio State.
Also don’t forget that Dabo’s story mirrors Kirby’s quite closely and look at that fricker now. Don’t get too cocky.
The Bama roster wasn't quite as good as Georgia's, but it was far from depleted. Richt was a better game day coach than Shula. No doubt about that.
The biggest difference, and a lot of schools like yours don't want to hear this. If you're not finishing top five in recruiting year after year, you're chances of winning are greatly diminished. Richt never could do that. Lower top ten won't cut it. You might luck up and win one year in a decade, but you won't be consistently in the hunt year after year.
