Physicians get paid literally 1% of what the hospitals bill. The facility fees are what are outrageous.
Go look at the number of healthcare administrators. They literally add no income or produce anything of value yet have six figure salaries - especially the ones in the C-suite bossing around the doctors.

This is the purpose of the 27th amendment. Representatives can’t vote to change (increase) their current pay.
“ No law, varying the compensation for the services of the Senators and Representatives, shall take effect, until an election of Representatives shall have intervened.”
Changes to pay structure (including not getting paid) can only be enacted after the next election.
To the OPs point - this congress can certainly make a law to withhold the pay to representatives during future shutdowns.

The republicans should join and appropriate these rallies. We agree. We don’t have kings. It’s how our country was founded. Separation of powers. The sovereign is We The People.
