No. The name in and of itself is iconic. There is only on Tiger Stadium. It was the first true stadium in the South, let alone SEC. In 4 years, we will celebrate its 100th anniversary. Although it has been remodeled and updated many times, much of the structure of the west and east sidelines remains the same. It is only one if three D 1 stadiums that use the H style goal posts, allowing the Tigers to run through them in order to enter the field. The cross bars are cut after championship seasons and hung inside the locker room so the team can touch it as they exit to enter the field. It hosted the first night football games in the South and is the only stadium in the South that traditionally hosts all night games, with every game being originally scheduled for a 7 pm kickoff (but obviously the time changes due to TV contracts). As a result, Tiger Stadium is bigger than any single person and does not “need” a name in order to be recognized. Our state may pimp out the Superdome but it will never dishonor the old girl by selling her name to the highest bidder.

Have you seen all the ads in tiger stadium?

It will never be named after a person unless it's a corporate sponsor.

...State Fair Field @ Corndog Stadium

You're joking right? Our stadium is named after a legendary coach and an ex president (George Denny).

Good grief man. You’re dumb, even by Gump standards!
