Obviously anyone who was around the SEC during the Tim Tebow tenure knows how overzealous the hype got for Tebow (not knocking his ability at all Gators, just the frenzy). Is it possible that we'll see Johnny Football surpass it? Thoughts?

We've got 300,000 living alumni. That's a whole lot of jars. So yes.

No, Tim Tebow was a special player and a special person. Unusual in our times.

God I hope not. Lundquist and Danielson will need new shorts after every A&M game. The year after Tebow left, you can tell they were just heart broken.

Not unless JFF starts PRAIZING JESUS on national TV and wearing scripture under his eyes. And I recommend Psalm 75:10 if he starts (Jonah 2:10 is my backup).

Nope. Won't even get close to Tebow hype. Almost every Earthly Christian adores Tebow for much more than football skills.

To them, the Holy Trinity is:

1) God
2) Christ
3) Tebow

No. Unless A&M wins two national titles under Manziel.

Very doubtful. Tebow's hype extended way beyond the football field.

He also won a couple of championships.

he's like a modern day prophet to some, i'm with ya on that one

JFF has too much swagger and awesome to get to Tebows levels because if you're gonna beat on teams like that and not then spout of bible verses/christian rhetoric afterward then people are invariably gonna hate ya

In order to surpass Tebow he's going to need to

A) Continue playing lights out. He only has one season under his belt.

B) Have some sort of extra-curricular activity that he uses to whore himself out to the media.

He might achieve A. But B will be a diffcult hurdle to jump.

Tebow was the most decorated player in college football history. JFF is very good, but he would have to win 2 titles, a heisman, save multiple atheist, circumcise a bunch of kids, ect... Its gonna be a tough road. Tebow got the hype from football purist and the regular media. We will see but I say not.

FWIW my reasoning for why it could happen is A&M is playing pretty well with him just as a freshman. I could see them continuing that success and possible parlaying that into national success.

Second, a couple more Scooby Doo and hooker appearances and ol' JFF may be lauded as the anti-Tebow.

No, and that says nothing about Manziel.

Tebow hype was created by ESPN while Tim was still in HS. I'm not sure if Manziel will be able to surpass that. I hope not. It's gets old quick.

People who couldn't care less about football loved Tebow thanks to the free ESPN public service announcements..
