What the frick does Oklahoma really offer other than a conference with terrible defenses?

Didn't you skip through your league by 24+ ppg last season like Oklahoma only to get 44 hung on you and score only 16 points when you faced a real defense too? I see eerie parallels.

Hurts was the better QB

January 2018 national title game vs UGA

Jalen Hurts: 3 of 8, 21 passing yards, 0 points in the first half

Tua Tagovailoa: 14 of 21, 166 yards, 26 points in the 2nd half for the win.

Moral of this story: If dawg girl would learn to make biscuits and clean grout she wouldn't have to worry about no footballs.

Clemson wasn't the toughest defense we played last year.

However, Oklahoma was one of the weakest we played.

Miss St had the #1 defense according to the S&P. It's also the game that gave Clemson the film it needed for their game plan.

Alabama had 443 yards of offense vs Clemson, only about 40 less yards. The big difference were the 2 turnovers and Alabama struggled in the redzone.

Got to agree on one thing. UGA beat AU in the SECCG that year.

Tua didn't even play in the 4th quarter of that game.

Absolutely. Tua is overrated.

Interesting, coming from a UGA fan. That's like saying UGA got spanked in a national title game in ONE half by a guy that isn't as good as advertised.

This is honestly one of the dumbest threads in the history of this board. Jalen is awesome and Alabama fans wish him nothing but the best, and unless you are a Clemson fan, Tua has eviscerated your team at least once. Retards gonna retard, though, I guess.

Because their offense sucked. 24-0 was the final and Alabama only had 305 yards of total offense.

Sounds like it would be easy to appear like a defensive juggernaut against a team like that. Kinda sounds like LSU too last year now that I think of it.

Huh? Their offense was constantly hanging their defense out to dry and not giving them a break/rest.

Funny enough, the problem with Jalen in 2016 vs Clemson is he kept going 3 and out so fast Clemson ended up running 99 offense plays on the night.

Clemson also managed to run all those plays without a single hold.

Right. That's to be expected when you have a piece of shite of an offense.

1 loss for which I made no excuse... but don't bother reading a full post before contributing with the stereotypical, cheap response that the Rant has become well known for over the last few years

Tua was injured (both ankles, one req surgery) at the beginning of the UGA game. Yes, Jalen did a fabulous job of relieving him and winning the game with the pass as much as the run. Enos did a great job of developing Jalen's passing form last year. He was a very fine passer by the end of his Bama tenure but Tua is a generational type of passer. Alabama was fortunate to have either or both.

One reason Jalen regressed so much in 2017 was that he saw how much better Tua was and it troubled his sincere conscience that he was still starting. He often expressed his amazement at Tua. Jalen was/is a great kid and teammate. So is Tua.
