I doubt it. This new playoff system doesn't allow for mulligans.

What do you call the Ole Miss loss and us still making it to the playoffs? So glad I'm not an LSU fan that's still collectively a bunch of whiny bitches over 2011.

God, that was a great year to watch your entire fan base go bat frick crazy.

ETA: I can make a good argument for us underachieving last year. This year should be a good year for us looking at our talent in recruiting the last 4 years. I guess it'll all depend on QB play though. Feeding Derrick Henry alone should get us 9 wins.

Nope....because the days of crying to the media for rematches and making into a popularity contest are over. Case in point was this past season...you actually have to play the game.....FSU vs Bama???.....lol.....puhlease

That night yes. Bama was the best team in the country by a large margin. The night Bama lost no.

Not asking about 1/9, which Bama was clearly the best. Not asking about 11/5, when Bama's 4 missed FGs cost them victory.

I'm asking if you honestly think Bama was not the best team in the country in 2011.

So, last year LSU attempts 5 FG from 60 yards out against the wind and misses each, does it mean this is the reason why Alabama won the game?

LSU was the better team in 2011. Alabama won the game in 2012.

not even comparable situations. In 2011 LSU made 3 FGs to beat Bama. One was when they had a drive begin at the Bama 15 yard line. You gained 2 yards and kicked a FG. You had another FG where your drive began at the 25 in OT.

In the first qtr Bama had three drives - for 127 yards - all into FG range and came away with 3 missed FGs. LSU had 2 drives for a total of 33 yards. The missed FGs were not "60 yards out against the wind". The FGs were long, yes, but could be made (foster made a kick in that very game longer than one of the misses).

LSU had a great team in 2011. That team was likely a top 10 all-time BCS era team. That said, 1/9 proved without question they weren't the best team that year.

No...it didn't....it proved that a team playing another for a second time in college football with revenge on their mind has a HUGE advantage over the team that won the first time.....period

Saban is washed up and needs to go. Alabama should have let Texas have his underachieving arse and hired someone who knows what he hell he's doing

Bama won the SEC in 2009 and won the BCS title with no losses. In 2012 Bama won the SEC and won the BCS title with 1 loss. 2011 was one freaking year but you LSU morons act like Bama cried their way in 3 times under Saban.

How has Bama not fired him yet? He's a terrible coach because he doesn't win all his games.

Has Les Miles ever won a national championship... with his own players? You might wanna worry about LSU. This thread is kind of bizarre and pathetic.

Bama was most definitely not the best team in 2011. They won the NC in a rematch and props to them for that. They did not win their conference championship. There is absolutely no way that anyone can realistically say they were the best team in the conference that year. Bama lost at home, during the heart of the season, with a healthy team and following a bye-week to a team that went undefeated and won the conference championship game. If that loss had come at the beginning of the season or while playing with a 2nd string qb, you may have a valid argument, but that wasn't the case. Bama got beat by a better team that day, plain and simple. You can spout the typical Bammer line and say that they gave the game away, but y'all sound like a bunch of spoiled sport titty-babies that want to take their ball and go home when they don't get their way.

In the 11 (not including LSU vs Bama) regular season games played during the 2011 season, Alabama's averaged margin of Victory was 29.91 ppg (329 /11) LSU's was 29.82 (328/11). LSU played No. 3 Oregon and at No. 16 West Virgina. Alabama played a mediocre Penn state outside of conference. 1/9/12 aside surely your delusional fan base can't possibly think you all had a better team.

I'll say yes but the days of the SEC/Saban dominating and winning multiple national championships are over.

Nick Saban is washed up. Les Miles sucks. Both of these statements are true.
