Will Gus Malzahn's stock drop like a rock this year?

I think people will start to criticize his offense for never giving the defense a rest.
..as aubren implodes.
Blame will be spread around.
Malzahn will get his share.

He could've been coaching the Commodores to a 3-0 start and hailed a hero.

Yeah, he was never any good. Neither was Auburn, they sold their soul for one year. Chizik is garbage, should of hired a real coach.

No. He will have his choice of jobs this year.
It is absolutely unbelievable how much he has had to do to overcome Roof's D.

He's a legit OC. Hell, they had a good offense with fricking Chris Todd running the show. Let that sink in for a second. His offense pushes the pace, but quick turnarounds probably aren't in the top 10 of concerns Auburn fans should have with their defense.

Well he could help out the defense even more if he ran Dyer on 3rd and short when he is getting 10 yards a pop.
Instead of throwing incomplete.

How is an oc averaging 30 pts a game going to lose cred because his team has a crappy defense. If he wasn't at Aubrn they would be 0-3

As I said before the season started, "80 play Gus: His stock is going to fall faster than Tiger Woods on the back 9, faster than the stock market every time Obama opens his frickin' mouth..."
Sure they win this weekend, that team truly sucks, but then look at the next four and where they're played. Hell, look at the rest of the schedule.
He needs to learn to change with what he has, as in play slow-paced white boy ball with that defense he needs to spell. But he won't, he'll stick to his guns and that will make him look like a horse-blinded dipshit.

As an AU fan that watches every second of every game we play... the above statement if 100% fact. He is the only reason we aren't 0-3

How is Gus the problem?
Maybe he didn't give it to Dyer enough, which there are all kinds of rumors of Dyer in the doghouse w the staff, but other than that, he hasn't done anything to make his stock drop

Not sure about behind the scenes issues, but not feeding Dyer more can be the only criticism of Gus. But for anyone to say Gus is AU's problems; just no.

He had the luxury of having 26 seniors and CN last year. That alone made him a great coach. But, when you are losing it is the coaches fault..........

Considering what they lost, the fact that Auburn's offense is still pretty good elevates him IMO. He's not going to get a major job but he could and should get like an ACC or Big East gig.

Lolz,he's the only coach they have...

I think his job is to get the ball to playmakers in space, and he does that better than just about anyone. This is the first game Auburn has lost after winning 17 straight. Do you think that just maybe they had good reason to believe they could continue with what had been successful? When the Auburn defense is on the field what do you suppose the offensive coaches are doing? Do you think that maybe they are analyzing and discussing what the opponent's defense was doing so that they might make adjustments or find weaknesses they might attack? If so, then the offensive coaches don't have a lot of time to worry about time management issues unless they receive instructions from the head coach to do so.
I hope Malzahn's stock goes up enough that he gets hired as a head coach by someone outside the SEC. He'd be perfect for the Pac-Whatever.

As an outsider I have to agree with your agreeing statement...

I think you've got it backwards.
Chizik (a supposed defensive specialist) will start to get a lot of criticism for allowing his defense to be so bad.
Just what the hell is Chizik doing if he is not overseeing the defense enough to play good enough to keep freaking Clemson under 600 yards?
Malzahn should be the head coach there and I'm pretty sure the large majority of fans and players realize that.

Auburn loses their first game since Tiger Woods' wife beat his arse and now we're blaming Malzahn?

He will be in demand just as much and depending on if the D can get on track to help win some games maybe even more.
