Florida D << Auburn D

Based upon what?

I mean, the Florida defense has more sacks than Auburn's. I mean...a LOT more. Like 35-23 more.

Florida has played LSU like Auburn has. Auburn has not played Alabama. Florida has played Georgia.

Tough games by each:

Florida
#1 LSU
#4 Georgia

Auburn
#1 LSU
#6 Oregon
#11 Florida

Aaaaaand....Auburn lost to two of those. Including to Florida. So what makes you so sure that Auburn has a better defense than Florida?

Auburn put up 13 points on Florida. 13. Florida put up 24 points on Auburn.

Georgia put up 24 points on Florida and had 1 TD called back.

When the Dawgs had a true freshman at QB? (like Auburn does now). Derrick Brown will think there are 14 offensive linemen blocking him.

He was talking about their defenses.

Auburn’s offense is really bad

That's fine, but if they couldn't put any more points on the board against Florida, why do y'all think they can against Georgia? Our overall defense is better than both of theirs.

I mean.....Florida's defense has a lot more sacks. They have played a similar difficult schedule. I don't get it. Why does everybody think Auburn's defense is so much better than Florida's?

ETA
Georgia's defense has not given up a single rushing TD all year. What does Auburn do best? Run the ball. They struggle when they have to pass. What are they going to have to do against Georgia? Pass.

Personally? I dont Think they can.

They’ll just hold y’all to like 21-25 range.

Auburn's performance on defense in big games.

The vast majority of your post is about either offensive performance or team performance as a whole.

I never said Auburn would beat UGA nor did I say Auburn was better than Florida. I said Auburn's defense was better than Florida's.

But, now I am saying it: I think Auburn has a great shot Saturday. Not sure why that chaps your arse -- if I'm wrong, we'll find out Saturday. So just relax and let the game speak for itself rather than getting your panties in a bunch when somebody says something good about your upcoming opponent.

But they'd sure as frick take our depth on D. Your line will be gassed by midway through the 3rd with no depth to come in and take over. Bo Nix, on the other hand, will be facing a fresh D from the opening whistle to the final tick of the clock.

Know how I know you haven’t watched Auburn this year? Auburn rotates tons of guys on defense.

Not as much in big games, like against LSU. That vaunted DL was gassed in the 4q.

They should be able to get more pressure then UF did. Auburn’s problem will be on offense.

Auburn's strength is on the interior DL. Floridas strength is in the edge rushers. UGA has two potential first round tackles which easily neutralized the florida strength.

It will be different against Auburn. But auburn matches up better against the Dawgs than UF. That said... I don't think Auburn has the overall talent on D that Florida has.

I just don't think he gets it done. Neither will Nix, but I look for the AU D to cause some very untimely turnovers for UGA and its too much for them to overcome. With AU losing to FL/LSU already....they are out for blood. Good luck Dawgs, gonna need it.

Makes no sense.

Georgia has a great offensive line which will help them vs Auburn.

Fromm is more experienced and makes less mistakes than Nix.

Georgia has an overall better defense than Auburn and Auburn’s offensive line isn’t very good.

Georgia wins unless they beat themselves.

A lot of Georgia fans think it will be ultra low scoring. 14-10 or 17-10 range.

I think we score 20-27 points, though.

We haven't shown a lot of offense, though, so the things many on here are legitimate.

It is a team game, after all.

In what way? I keep asking but nobody seems capable of answering. Most people go by recruit rankings. Nobody wants to compare any statistics or hard data to discuss Auburn's defense.

Are they capable? Maybe. But we put up more points on them last year when their defense was young, they had a better QB, and our defense was not as good. And yes. Their offense plays into how their defense does. We are very good at keeping the football and grinding good defenses down. They have a hard time with TOP.

Well, either they can't stop the other offense, or your offense can't stay on the field, so that is a major problem.

Time of Possession

Oregon 32 AU 27
A&M 31 AU 28
MState 32 AU 27
Florida 33 AU 26
Arkansas 29 AU 30
LSU 33 AU 26

You lose TOP in most games against decent competition. And not be just a little bit. Against good competition it gets worse. See Florida and LSU.

No, he won't. That's why Auburn is going to win. They will win via field position and turnovers. Auburn will score on short fields and take advantage of the position their defense puts them in. Georgia is gonna lose this game at auburn. They're overrated big-time. I don't care if you do have an off game, you don't get best by South Carolinas team at home lol. They're just not very good and Auburn is good enough to expose them, which is going to happen on Saturday.

What makes you think it gets me upset?
I am just trying to understand your reasoning.
I think it will be a tough, close game, but I think almost every metric points to a Georgia victory except where we play.

As for the way they play in big games? Was Florida and LSU this year not a big game? How about Georgia and Alabama last year?
You seem to have a hard time forgetting 2017. This is a different team.

Lol, hell fricking no Jake Fromm is no Joe Burrow. Burrow is the best qb in college football and will win Heisman trophy. Fromm doesn't have that in him. Fromm isn't half the qb burrow is and if he was LSUs qb and not burrow, we would have lost a couple of games by now with the schedule we have played. Fromm is an average to above average qb. Joe burrow is an elite qb. Huge difference.

WTF does this thread have to do with Joe Burrow. You are the taint of LSU fandom.

Would LSU be favored against the New England Patriots?

QBs: close, but advantage LSU
Coaching: O and it’s not even close
