2004 was AU's own fault

How is it our fault the top two teams in the preseason went undefeated? Winning an extra game or two in '03 wasn't going to change that. It may have put us in the top 10 to start the year, but that's it.

Read my post. It is spelled out there.

For a reminder, you 2004 OOC scheduling was Louisiana monroe, the citadel, and Louisiana tech.
Scheduling that crap in a year that you want respect is your fault.

You lost to GT in 2003. And GT in 2005. Seriously. Who does that (a team that struggles OOC is who).

The Citadel, Louisiana Tech, ULM..can’t remember who but pretty sure you had a tougher game scheduled and cancelled it a few years earlier.

04 worked out perfectly for Auburn, they would have gotten steamrolled by either USC or OU that year. Instead they avoided an embarrassing title game and now there is this myth that 2004 Auburn was some GOAT type team

Do you want me to invest time telling you how retarded that comment is or can you just take my word for it?

No. We had better opponent scheduled (don't remember who) that canceled on us and Citadel was our only option.

Were you one of the “we owned the LOS in game 1, that won’t change in 3 weeks” AU fans? You seem to like to talk, so I’d bet you were. And I’m sure Kyle is all flushed with pride after that pat on the head, he’s a good boy isn’t he..good dawgie.

Actually, DuncanIdaho is one of the better Auburn posters, and very fair. I think BHMKyles point is....right now we have a ton of new posters wearing Georgia colors trolling everything that moves, and not doing a very good job at it, to boot. I don't normally think of you as a troll. I would prefer no Georgia posters troll until the new guys grow tired and slow down.
Nothing personal to you, dawgfanman, just a sign of the times with the bad new posters.
And Kyle is right. I don't mind smack talk when they start it, but to act like they have done nothing is as silly as them saying we are not relevant.

Appreciate the respectful response, these boards are for fun and I’m bored. Tired of playing video games with the kids and off til the 3rd.

I'm pretty sure they won the SEC Championships those three years too, so, yes would be the answer.

The team had the weakest OOC schedule and had its best win against a 4 loss tennessee.

Actually UT went 10-3 with two of those losses coming against Auburn.

We also beat a 9-3 LSU and a 10-2 UGA.

Really Auburn's schedule in '04 is pretty comparable to UGA's schedule this year. Really only played three quality teams and had to play one of them twice. The only difference is one of UGA's came from an OOC opponent.

We actually got screwed by OU and Bowling Green that year. OU bought out our contract with them and we had to scramble to schedule a game and ended up with the Citadel.

Considering the SEC West has been the most dominant division in football for the past decade, yes, I would say winning the SEC West is worth noting.

During the previous 10 seasons, the SEC West has produced 9 teams that played for a National Championship... including 6 teams that won the National Title.

If we were talking about the East, this would be a different story. But yes, as of late winning the SEC West is probably more impressive than just about any other team winning an entire Conference Title.

How come y'all didn't play an AQ team OOC that season?

We were scheduled to play Bowling Green (who went 9-3 that year) until OU bought out the contract. BG ended up being OU's only good OOC win that year.
