Only 29 tackles and 7 sacks?

It was an underwhelming rookie class. No one that I can think of put up really good stats.

Just curious, how many other pressures and hurries?

7 sacks is a good number for a rookie

Solid but not spectacular. 5 other rookies had more sacks just in the past two seasons.

vs

Byron Young

42 tackles and 8 sacks

Will did it in 2 fewer games, so he likely finishes with at least the same amount of sacks.

My issue is Will Anderson won the award and Young finished 8th I'm not going to say Byron definitely should have won over will, but it should have been closer than votes-wise (Either Byron higher or Will lower)

Didn’t want the controversy. He might be a big figure in the Tennessee NIL scandal once it picks up.

Seven sacks (fourth-most among rookies), 45 tackles, including 10 tackles for loss, and 22 QB hits, most among rookies. Anderson generated 64 QB pressures and a whopping 17.3% pressure rate, both tops in his class.

These votes are popularity contests. Texans were the belle of the ball at the end of the season.

Yeah. It's really not even debatable.

Will Anderson
45 tackles (29 solo)
7.0 sacks
10 TFL
22 QB hits

Byron Young
61 tackles (42 solo)
8.0 sacks
8 TFL
19 QB hits

Will Anderson also missed several games. Byron Young didn't. Byron Young finished 9th in the voting, so it ain't just Will Anderson who voters thought had a better season than him

Would be interesting to see the # of plays played out of curiosity. But the stats raw numbers bring a valid argument at least. I'll allow it.

Great player! Thankfully, when he played against LSU the DC game planned him away from his strengths.

Normally I would just tell you to call your governor and senators, but I hear they're very busy right now.
