Why wouldn’t you root against Alabama last night being a fan of another SEC team?

I mean you realize pretty much all SEC teams recruit for the same players? What benefit does rooting for Alabama have on your school if they win? The whole SEC over every conference thing? frick that who cares that’s meaningless.

Because it's fun to pick on such humble and gracious people.

Conference pride doesn’t mean shite. Handle your business during the season and you are in the playoff.

As long as you’re in a P5 conference, amirite UCF?

If Bama is recruiting a kid, isn’t Clemson pretty much recruiting that kid? Not sure how Clemson winning helps me as a fan.

I was pretty apathetic about the game in general. I understand hating a team. I hate kansas and I celebrate their losses. It doesn’t have anything to do with “the benefit” involved. It’s a rivalry and we hate them. Just admit that and your life will be better. (And we’ll have better threads on this board.)

Not necessarily. Maybe if you're UGA, Florida, or South Carolina, but there are plenty of recruits where it comes down to LSU or Alabama and nobody else is really in the mix.

I hate Clemson but...

I hate Nick more.
I want the Bama recruitment train to derail.
And watching Bama quit like little bitches just felt so good!

The only reason not to root against them (should have just said root for them) is the continued strength of schedule, and strength of record argument. Otherwise we can root for a shitty conference and stay at home when we lose one game like Ohio State.

I doubt that is the case. I would repeat this to yourself regularly though.

And we know this. Our chief competition is outside the conference. An in-conference win helps our recruiting.

Yet, you still believe we want the Alabama dynasty to continue. If it were Auburn or LSU, I would still pull for the SEC because it helps us recruit against the fricking longhorns and dirt burglars.

Okay. Just over the past few years, Devonte Lee, Dylan Moses, Isiah Buggs, Cam Robinson, Devin White, Pat Surtain, and Sophspher all have come down to a battle between LSU and alabama with alabama admittedly winning all but one of those.

I can think of 2 recent recruits where it has come down to LSU and Clemson, Travis Ettiene and Goodrich.

I never said Clemson didn't offer, I said it came down to LSU and Alabama. Neither were seriously considering Clemson.
