Why would you even WANT to play this year anyway? Its a tainted season.

Everything you do is gonna have a big asterisk over it.
If you win a title, its gonna be tainted for having been played in a Covid year. No one will take it seriously and you will be mocked until the end of time for it.

Its more impressive...to not play 99% of your competition? To have an easy schedule hand fed to you by the conference?

Your team and my team have no chance for college playoff. That is one reason why the top teams have it better to make it there. There will be no other bowl games!

No, same teams all had a chance to compete. Some chose not to, that is on them.

If the SEC is the only conference to play, the winner is the NC. Nothing tainted about it. NC were awarded during world wars, Spanish Flu, etc.

Elephant in the room here - have you been to most of these SEC states?
These fall Saturdays are, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the highest form of entertainment available. There is literally not shite all else to do in Arkansas, Alabama, etc...
Taking away football is literally taking away a lot of people's primary source of joy.

If a team goes 9-1 or 10-0 against all SEC competition and some news agencies name them the national champion, you think that wouldn't be a deserved title?
Granted, If ACC plays and they dont have the playoffs and Clemson goes undefeated against their shitty conference, they may have to share the title with the SEC's best, but still, the last 5 champions have come from the SEC or ACC so that might be fair
