Why Would Vanderbilt Vote TX/OU In?

As a Vanderbilt fan, I don't get it. Yes, the school would receive more money in the short-term, but having these super conferences, I feel, increases the likelihood that smaller schools in the long-run might get the boot.

This drive towards super conferences I actually thinks hurts schools like Vanderbilt, Duke, and Northwestern, and I don't think they should be on board with this.

Every conference will always want one private school.

FOIA and all that.

Didn't Vandy abstain from the A&M/Mizzou vote?

If they abstain again, it would only take 3 no votes to prevent the move, right?

How does the FOIA help the conference? I would think it only applies to Vanderbilt and would only be helpful to Vanderbilt.

Nope. 10/13 still meets threshold.

They won't vote yes or no, just like when Mizz and A&M joined. In fact I think A&M will vote no, and Mizz will also just not vote. This makes A&M the bad guy, especially if others just don't vote.

Baseball for Texas

Keep in mind privates are needed to shield full conference financials. All public universities and sunshine laws come in to the picture.

EDIT- someone else already covered it with a better explanation.
