Their QB and WR duo is returning this year. Solid 12 team playoff team right?

With our horribly light schedule comparatively and what we return missing the 12 team play off would be a huge failure. We should also be preseason top 15.

We should have a good team. I'm cool with 8 - 4 but expectations may be up for other fans. More important, the players expectations should be up to.

Anything can happen. In 2012 Auburn went 3 - 9 and Missouri 4 - 8. In 2013 they both went to Atlanta and finished in the top 5 nationally.

Is this based off your offense?

Leadership from the players. These guys took it upon themselves to win which is a great thing to watch.

The teams with the best players can win playing the system, but the other teams have to have a chemistry and a goal and desire to achieve it. They had that this year.

And imo it started with Burden, they don’t do this without him.

Baker’s inability to adjust cost us the LSU game and almost cost us the Florida game.

After blowing a big lead to LSU, Kirby Moore almost kept us in it until Brady Cook choked.

Then against Florida, after Mertz was hurt, Baker couldn’t adjust to the different play calling under the backup QB. Mizzou blew a lead, but Kirby Moore’s play calling and Cook not choking let us pull a win out of our arse.

There's a lot of truth in this post. Burden became the magnet that induced others to come.

IMO we're going to be hard pressed to repeat 2023 based on the sheer volume of player losses on defense and leadership overall. Fortunately our early schedule is exceptionally soft so hopefully roles can be filled and new leadership can emerge. If so, 10 wins and a shot at the 12 team playoff is possible.

Drink did well in the portal and did well building a roster at a school who doesn't recruit in the top 10 hs wise. That is the what college football is moving towards. Drink and a few others are out front of the pack.

I have high expectations too. But, lets pause for a second to digest the fact that we've lost about 8 starters on D to the NFL draft. We do have a lot of great transfers coming in, and the #1 D end in the country as a freshman. But, we also don't have a DC right now. So, pump the breaks just a tad.

That's all part of building a winning culture...the young guys were sponges around the leaders last year and I would expect new leaders to emerge.

The running game with Scrader and the defense was the 2 main reasons. The run game was complemented by really good WR’s. Cook is an average QB that was put in a perfect situation.

Schrader split carries with Peat until after the LSU game. Before the LSU game Scrader had 75 carries and the other RB’s had 60. In the last 6 games (not counting Arkansas) RB’s had 10 carries and Scrader had 155. The 10 carries went for 22 yards. 16 of the 22 yards came on 1 play.
UK-4 carries
SC-0
UGA-2
UT-2
UF-2
OSU-0

Workable schedule and improvement at the right times. TO margin was a big key and having a good FG kicker.

Clark is right on the money here.

LBIII is an ultra competitor, and that stuff rubs off. Darius Robinson was a great leader on D and many others on defense followed suit. Replacing Baker and finding new leadership on the field defensively are the two biggest question marks going into 2024, but we've got a handful of well-seasoned players to build around (Williams, Walker, Carnell, Charleston, Norwood).

I expect our offense to be solid.
