To give a serious answer (which is always a mistake in these threads), yes we had grown beyond the API name, but also everyone had always called it “Auburn” anyway.
Ooh, and the football team was called “Alabama” for the first few years because UA’a team was either nonexistent or terrible (there are news headlines early in the DSOR that label it “the annual Georgia/Alabama game”), but by the time Mike Donahue was wrecking shop in the 1910’s, the football team was the “Auburn Tigers.”
